How does any couple meet in the middle of a world-wide pandemic? The internet, of course. With some prompting from a friend, Faith swept right on Ethan's profile on a dating app. We instantly matched. His opening line: "Two fish are in a tank. One looks at the other and asks, 'How do you drive this thing?'" Luckily for Ethan, the picture of his dog was incredibly cute, so the two continued talking.
Faith was still working at the prosecutor's office at the time. She told her paralegal that if she did not hear back from her within an hour, to have the police come look for her. She was meeting a stranger from the internet after all; the exact thing every child raised in the 1990's was warned not to do. We went to the Hoppy Gnome, only a block from Faith's office. We talked for over two hours, getting to know each other, finding out about each other's families, favorite colors... the standard first date information. But, we could not stop talking. It was not until leaving the restaurant that Faith checked her phone, to a series of missed text messages hoping she had not been kidnapped.
On a trip to Asheville, North Carolina, Ethan planned an amazing proposal. We had booked a picnic at the North Carolina Arboretum, where they were doing a concert in the park for local musical talent. The Arboretum was gorgeous. Upon arriving, we quickly discovered that the venue lost our picnic order, so we had no food. Bummer. But, we had the dogs, it was a gorgeous day, and we were going to have a great evening. However, Ethan was getting incredibly flustered about all the "rogue" children at the Arboretum. Children were playing tag near the Ampitheater, Ethan was unamused. We went to a fountain on the property, where children immediately began playing football in the field beside us. Ethan was perturbed. We finally found two rocking chairs overlooking a portion of the Arboretum. However, what Ethan absolutely intended to be a sweet moment, was somewhat hampered by Faith's growing hunger. Ethan asked Faith how she had enjoyed the vacation, and suggested we should take trips like this more often. Being the go with flow person Faith is, she responded that they probably would not be able to go on a lot of big trips like this more often because of work. However, Ethan was persistent. He asked again if we could go on more trips, would Faith enjoy doing so. Faith, thinking Ethan did not hear her responses responded, "We absolutely don't have time for more trips like this because of work." Ethan, seeing he wasn't going to get very far with his line of questioning found his moment, dropped on one knee and said, "We have the rest of our lives." We were in nature, we were with the dogs, and there were no onlookers to make Faith feel uncomfortable. It was perfect.

Casual attire requested. Jeans and a blazer? Sounds great! New (or old) sundress? Fantastic! Basketball shorts and a t-shirt? Maybe a bit too casual.
The plan, weather permitting, is to have the ceremony in an outdoor space. So please keep that in mind! Further, this will be an unplugged ceremony. Please do not take pictures during the ceremony.
