Frequently Asked Questions

Question

How far is the wedding venue in Mpigi town from Kampala city?

Answer

Mpigi town is located about 22km southwest of Kampala city. The drive usually takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic conditions. The wedding venue is 5 minutes before reaching Mpigi town centre, with a road branching off from the Masaka - Kampala Highway, on your left side. Peak Traffic Hours to Avoid include; - Morning Rush Hour: From around 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM when commuters head into Kampala. - Evening Rush Hour: From around 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM when people are leaving Kampala to head home.

Question

What are some alternative driving routes to Mpigi ?

Answer

The primary driving route from Kampala to Mpigi is via Masaka Road, (passing through Busega - Kyengera - Katende ) however it is not recommended due traffic. Alternative routes include: - Kampala-Mityana Road, passing through Bulenga - Buloba, branch off Buloba to Nsangi (to avoid the Bujuuko road which is in a bad condition), which leads you back on Masaka road, just before Mpigi. - Kampala Entebbe Road, before Kajjansi roundabout, branch to Kings College Budo, passing through Kasenge. Continue past Budo towards Kitemu, which connects to Masaka Road. Turn left towards Katende and continue onwards to Mpigi. Both of these routes can be helpful when you want to avoid the busy traffic on the main Masaka Road, but it’s essential to check real-time traffic conditions on Google Maps before embarking on your journey.

Question

Will a Google Map Pin to the venue be provided ?

Answer

Yes, once you confirm your attendance by clicking RSVP, we shall share a Google Map pin to the wedding venue at Eng. Peter Ssebanakitta's residence. There will be some banners, visible from the road, near the gate to mark the entrance to the wedding venue.

Question

Is there group transport provided ?

Answer

No, please arrange your own transportation to the venue (self-drive or hire a driver).

Question

What are some accommodation options in Mpigi town?

Answer

Please note that hotel options in Mpigi are limited and currently fully booked. However, Mpigi is only a 40-minute to 1-hour drive from Kampala, making it feasible to attend the event as a day trip. If you plan to stay for the afterparty, we recommend arranging for a driver to take you home safely at night.
