Our story started in the most unexpected way—at Bobo's Seafood on April 18, 2022. What began as a simple encounter quickly turned into something special. He gave me his number, and I called him so he could have mine—neither of us knowing that small moment would change everything. Later that day, after I went home to get ready to meet my friends for our usual “Messy Monday” seafood night, Derrick asked if he could see me again. Of course, I said yes. When we met back up, he didn’t waste any time letting me know exactly how he felt—telling me just how fine I was (and yes, I still smile about that). At the time, I was coming out of a breakup and had honestly given up on love and dating. I wasn’t looking for anything serious—but Derrick had other plans. He came into my life and showed me what it truly means to be loved the right way. He reminded me what it feels like to be valued, appreciated, and cared for by a real man. From that day forward, everything changed. What started over seafood turned into a love story we never saw coming—but now couldn’t imagine life without.
