How Our Story Began
It all began in July 2019, in the most unexpected place—Valois, a cozy, cafeteria-style diner in Chicago's Hyde Park. Domonique was in town for just a few days to visit friends, and Kris, a mutual friend, suggested a quick breakfast before everyone parted ways for the weekend. That’s when Domonique and Deriq met for the first time. Neither of them expected anything more than a casual meal and didn’t think they'd cross paths again. But fate had other plans. A month later, in August, their paths crossed again—this time in Buffalo, NY, Domonique’s hometown. Kris invited his Chicago crew for a visit, hosting a game night where Domonique was in charge of recruiting (lady) friends to join. It was there that she and Deriq finally had a chance to talk. Domonique mentioned she'd applied for a job in Chicago, thinking about making the move if she got the offer. Deriq listened but wasn't entirely convinced she’d pack up and start fresh in a new city. By the end of that month, Domonique accepted the job and made the move to Chicago. On the day she signed her apartment lease, she and Deriq planned to meet up for Jidenna’s listening party. Running a little late, they decided to grab some fast food beforehand. What started as a quick bite turned into hours of conversation, and they never even made it to the event. From that moment on, they spent every weekend together—and the rest, as they say, is history.

Sandals Grande St. Lucian is an adult only, all-inclusive hotel. This means that the price you pay for your accommodation includes pick up from the airport, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks for the restaurants located on the resort. This also includes access to the restaurants at the partner resorts, for which our hotel provides free shuttles. Each room includes a refrigerator which will be stocked daily with a selection of drinks. The hotel rooms are designed to host two people each. The total cost of the room covers all-inclusive access for two people. Keep in mind that the hotel only offers king size beds, so if you share a room, you must be comfortable sharing a bed with your roommate. The hotel requires a minimum 3 night stay. The most affordable room option is the Caribbean Deluxe room for 3 nights and 4 days. The total cost for this room is $1,328 per person, or $2,657 total for the room. You will need to put down a deposit so that the hotel can secure your room. Call our travel planner, Mele, at 1-877-726-3257 ext. 4027. Let her know that you're calling as part of the Griffin/Jones wedding group with the group number: RG24172155. Mele will assist you in booking your room as well as booking your flights. We recommend securing your room at your earliest convenience, but advise you to wait waiting until around January to search for flights. If you decide to book your flight on your own, it is important that you still call Mele to provide your flight details so that she can arrange for your transportation from the airport to the resort.

When is the RSVP Deadline
Answer
Use the Homepage of our website to RSVP by April 18th. Keep in mind that there are multiple events throughout the weekend and you must select each individual event that you are able to attend so that we can have an accurate count for each reception.

When should I pay my hotel deposit?
Answer
ASAP. Call our travel planner, Mele, at 1-877-726-3257 ext. 4027. Let her know that you're calling as part of the Griffin/Jones wedding group with the group number: RG24172155. You can pay the deposit now and pay the rest of the balance in St. Lucia.

When should I arrive to the island?

We recommend arriving at least one day before the wedding.

When should I book my flight?
Answer
We recommend looking into flights starting in February or March. If you try to book a flight sooner than 6 months from the arrival date, the costs will be exponentially higher.

Can I bring a plus one?
Answer
Your invitation includes information on whether you may bring a guest to the ceremony. If you’re single, you are welcome to bring a guest to help with room costs (only 2 people are allowed in one room and all rooms only have one king size bed). However, please note that only those listed on the official invitation are allowed to attend the ceremony and related events. We encourage guests to consider pairing up with other invitees where possible.
