Most of you probably know our story..but for any who don’t, here is how we met: Way back in the day, in our twenties, we both worked at Home Depot. We knew each other but not well, more like work acquaintances. Truth be told, our impressions of each other back then were NOT what they are today. Fast forward, we both went on to have our separate lives, marriages, families, etc. We were Facebook “friends”, so we knew OF each other but didn’t maintain any sort of contact other than a rare “liked” post. In 2021, we both suddenly/unexpectedly became widow(er)s, me in January and Matt in September. When I saw his post about having lost his wife, I felt compelled to reach out to him to offer support, hoping I might have some understanding of what he was going through. I thought maybe we’d become friends. Messaging eventually turned to phone calls which then turned to getting together which then turned, unexpectedly, to falling in love….and soon to be married!!!
