An OPTIONAL event for non-family members, a tea ceremony is traditionally held to formally introduce the bride and groom to each other's families. The couple will pay their respects by offering/pouring tea to the elder relatives of each side of the family. The exchange of tea and gifts act as the exchange of dowries to symbolize the mutual consent to marriage.
4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
There will be a few light bites, yard games, and a full bar service during this time slot.
7:00 pm - 10:30 pm
Dinner will be served in a BBQ buffet style.

Since our venue is 1.5 hours away, there’s an option to stay overnight-though it’s not mandatory! You can either stay right on the property of Fraser River Lodge in one of the cabins, or self-book a hotel that is a 15-minute drive away. Rooms tend to book up quickly, so if you'd like to stay overnight on the property, please reach out directly to Dillon and Sylvia to arrange. Otherwise, if you'd like to stay 15-minutes away from the venue, you may self-book at our personally recommended hotel, The Harrison Beach Hotel. RESOURCES: 1. On-site: book through Dillon and Sylvia but you may take a look at the options here: https://www.fraserriverlodge.com/lodge/accommodations Check-in time for rooms is 2:00 p.m., and check-out is 10:00 a.m. the following morning. 2. 15 Minutes from the Venue; self-book below: http://www.harrisonbeachhotel.com Check-in time for rooms is 4:00 p.m., and check-out is 11:00 a.m. There is a 2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY. Early check-in requires an additional $50 fee.
As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only event for a more relaxed experience. We hope you can enjoy a night off with us!
Our goal is to keep our very special weekend as intimate as possible. Given our planned resources, we are choosing to celebrate with only our closest friends and family members who are listed in the invite. We kindly ask that no additional guests be brought to the event. Thank you for respecting our wishes!
We understand the beautiful venue is a far ways away! As such, we have arranged for a few buses to shuttle our out of town and elderly guests to and from the venue. Please contact Dillon or Sylvia if you wish to participate in this arrangement.
