How We Met

The First Day - 2/6/19

We met at the University of Maine during our Freshman year spring semester. Our first date was at Las Palapas, a casual Mexican restaurant in Bangor, ME. Dillon picked Megan up from her dorm room around 7 PM. Little did he know Megan and Sara had just spent hours figuring out what Megan was going to wear! Megan didn't know that Dillon was worried that he was wearing all blue, because on the way out the door Jared asked him if he was seriously going to wear a "bloutfit" on the first date! Turns out we both thought each other looked great and nobody needed to stress. Dillon made a custom playlist for the ride to Las Palapas with love songs, and called it "D8"! Sometimes we still listen to it. Megan also remembers that when we were stopped at a red light, Dillon took the opportunity to let her know he was red-green colorblind. She thought the timing of that was really funny, and was impressed with his driving skills despite that! When we got to the restaurant we made an agreement to order whatever we wanted and not to worry about making a mess with our food haha! Megan remembers thinking Dillon was very outgoing, funny, and felt that he was a gentleman from the start. Dillon thought Megan looked really cute and loved that she was easy to talk to. Dillon was chivalrous and opened every door for Megan, and he paid for the whole date. However, we weren't sure how to pay the bill because it seemed the servers wanted us to pay at the hostess stand, but other people were getting their bills at the table. When Dillon asked Megan how we should pay, she didn't quite hear him and because she was nervous she just laughed! We had a great date and at the end of it, we were excited to see each other again soon.
