Like many modern love stories, ours began with a swipe. We met on Bumble, and from the very beginning, something just felt different. I remember thinking Matthew was one of the most genuine people I had ever met. He was kind, funny, respectful, and so considerate, qualities that shone through with every conversation we had. From his side, he told me that I was the first person to truly understand him. He said I made him feel seen, and to him that meant everything. We fell in love early, but it wasn't until later in our relationship that we began to fully understand the depth of what we had. There is no one defining moment we knew it was meant to be forever, but all the small ones that built up to something everlasting. We chose one another everyday without fail, and supported one another through both the quiet and the chaotic. Even in our lowest moments, there was no one else we wanted to turn to. Our love has never come with terms or conditions, it has always been unconditional from the start. Like any couple, we have had our challenges, but the laughter always seems to find its way back in. We don't stay upset for long, mostly because we're both a little too silly to take trivial things too seriously, unless it is something that really matters. In those moments, we always make sure to give each other the space to feel seen and heard. In regards to our proposal, I believe it happened just the way it was meant to; sweet, simple and full of love. After picking out the perfect ring together, one evening at home, Matthew got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. No loud or grand measures. Just us, in our favorite place, with our favorite person, beginning the next chapter of our lives. Our life together is already so warm, filled with laughter, love, and two mischievous cats who definitely rule the house. Our days are cozy and comforting, full of the kind of joy that comes from simply being known and loved.
