We had seen each other at our gym, CrossFit Osiris, since Fall of 2021, but never really spoke to each other. In early 2022, our gym announced its annual Spring competition. The competition required male/female partners. Desiree thought about it and was determined to win. She wanted to secure a “strong” male for her partner and when she thought about her options, she very quickly decided to ask that "strong looking newer guy", Andy, that she had seen around the gym. In January she asked him to be her partner for the April competition. He said yes, and we talked a little both online and in the gym for about a month after that. We eventually started messaging each other online every day and decided to meet for coffee before our Saturday partner workouts in order to “strategize”. From that day forward, meeting for coffee before our workouts on Saturday became a tradition that we both looked forward to. We fell in love and ended up taking 2nd in the competition!
