We are looking forward to celebrating with you!
In the heart of Eldoret, a vibrant town known for its rolling green hills and world-renowned athletes, Bernadette and Derrick’s story began. Bernadette had grown up in Eldoret, enchanted by its vast landscapes and the friendliness of its people. Every other morning, she took a walk through the town, breathing in the cool highland air and stopping by her favorite cafe to grab a cup of chai before heading to the proverbial “hustle”. She was a familiar face to many in Eldoret, known for her warm smile and her dedication to what she put her mind to. Derrick, on the other hand, had recently moved to Eldoret. An insurer by profession, had been sent from Nairobi to work on a project, launching the medical arm for the underwriter he worked for at the time. Derrick was new to town, but he quickly grew to love its serene aura and the relaxed nature of the town. He enjoyed exploring the town’s green farms and watching the legendary marathoners train in the early mornings running back to Iten, inspired by their discipline and strength and the farmers ploughing the large tracts of lands in the outskirts of the town. Bliss! Their chance encounter in the cool of Eldoret rain soon blossomed into friendship, and friendship quickly grew into something deeper while crossing paths in the Eldoret market space. Together, they explored the scenic landscapes around Eldoret, from the calming cool environment of Iten to the lush forests surrounding the towns like Kakamega not to mention Kapsabet. As months turned into years, Derrick realized that his heart had found a home in Eldoret—and with Bernadette. She had shown him a world of compassion and dedication and how meeting her had changed his world. With a gentle smile, he knelt down on one knee, reached into his pocket, and pulled out a simple ring he had chosen just for her. “Bernadette,” he said, his voice full of emotion, “you are my heart and my home. Will you marry me?” For a moment, Bernadette was speechless. Her heart swelled with joy, and she felt tears prickling in her eyes. She had always dreamed of a love that was both steady and full of adventure, and here was Derrick, offering her exactly that. With a wide smile, she nodded and whispered, “Yes.” And as they say, the rest is history. To start off their journey, the beautiful couple will be had their “ngasya” (Akamba dowry giving ceremony) held on the 12th of December 2024 in Tala, a town in Machakos County, located in the lower eastern region of Kenya and about 56 kilometers east of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. The day went superbly and was a true celebration of their journey, surrounded by the beauty of Ukambani and the people who had been part of their lives. A successful ngasya paved the way for a grand beautiful wedding ceremony and thus a blissful marriage there after. The big moment will be held on 12th April 2025. The ceremony will take place in the beautiful backdrop of Eldoret city cementing their beautiful journey before God and all you who have been part of their lives at the Palm Prairies Gardens - Annex.
