We met during a weekend getaway in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Like many, we just needed a break from the city—and a cozy little cabin four hours into Wisconsin ended up being the beginning of everything. If we are being honest, meeting through friends (and surrounded by them) played a big part in how quickly our connection grew. From the very start, we were in a setting where we could be completely ourselves—laughing, talking, and feeling the fireworks between us, all while having the best wingmen and wingwomen present. It feels only right that everyone from that cabin weekend is now part of our wedding party. The group that saw it all begin has been with us through every step since. As time has passed, we have traveled near and far—sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with the gang in tow. We have celebrated new couples, welcomed sweet babies, and toasted to so many milestones with the people we love most. We feel incredibly lucky to have you here now, celebrating this next chapter with us. Cheers to friendship, cheers to love, and get ready to party with the Pfeiffers!
Clayton planned an unforgettable day—one layered with meaning, nostalgia, and love. We began the morning with couples massages, setting a relaxed and celebratory tone for what was to come. From there, Clay took me on a walk through Andersonville and Ravenswood, the neighborhoods where I lived when our relationship was just beginning to unfold. We revisited some of my favorite local spots—The Galleria, The Perfect Cup, and the streets that once felt like home. As we wandered, Clay spoke about our past, our future, and all the small moments that quietly shaped our life together. Along the way, he surprised me by showing me a photo album he's kept—filled with photos he has cherished throughout our relationship, each one more meaningful than the last. The final photo appeared just as we stopped in front of the window of my favorite apartment from my single-girl days. In that moment, Clay got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Almost on cue, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and I said yes. True to who we are, we celebrated the only way that felt right—over dinner. Clay’s final surprise was taking me to El Ideas, a restaurant he loved and had been waiting to share with me. One of the desserts reminded him of sharing Frosties with his grandfather, a sweet and sentimental ending to an already perfect day. Our engagement story is a glimpse into what we hope our wedding day will be: filled with meaningful moments, nostalgia, love, and really good food. We cannot wait to celebrate the next best day of our lives with you.
