Where we're staying
The accommodation we've chosen is simple, with lots of stars in the sky. 🌌 More importantly, it's big enough that we can all stay together and have a spontaneous beer at the on-site pub, or bump into each other at breakfast. We'd love for you to join us there. It's also conveniently where the reception will be! We have put a hold on all of their rooms from 16th to 18th of March and so these rooms aren’t available on Booking.com anymore. To book, call the venue directly at +61 7 5494 2544. Roll-away singles can be added to some rooms and there's a quality foldout couch in the 1-bed "Glasshouse view" rooms which can be used for a small cost. When reserving your room please say you’re part of the “Hood Event” (/"family reunion") and not Alex and Deanna’s wedding. We have embroiled ourselves in a web of lies in order to avoid paying for frivolous extras. If you’ve already booked through Booking.com, you can optionally cancel and rebook directly with the venue to get a discounted rate, with the same convenient cancellation policy of 48h notice. We’re excited to share this beautiful space with you!

No gifts expected, just be a good sport! To be honest, all of our needs as far as “domestic goods for a minimalist nomadic couple” go are pretty well met. What would mean a lot to us would be: * a heartfelt note or something otherwise sentimental (Deanna is especially sentimental) * you spending the time with us, since literally everyone is either travelling or taking time off work! We feel very special that you’re making the effort to join us and so absolutely no gifts are at all expected beyond that ❤️ * you playing along with any antics we cook up to help make the trip memorable… be they games or interviews or other tricks we have up our sleeves to help us remember the day 🤗

Things to do
Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
There's a mini nature centre here! They do great guided tours! In the forest you can hear green catbirds and wompoo pidgeons! (Walks till 6pm; nature centre till 3pm)
Platypus boardwalk
Follow the boardwalk behind Woolworths, near dusk, and cross your fingers! Deanna's also spotted them in the creek in town, but it's easier in winter.
Sunshine coast beaches
These beaches are where Deanna learnt to boogie board on holidays as a kid (30 min drive).
Go Karting
For the speed demons (20mins away).
