How We Met
We met freshman year at the University of South Carolina during the first week of classes. I had just left my first accounting class and wanted to grab lunch before my next class. Russell House was full and all the restaurant lines were super long, so I went to the shortest line which was some sort of healthy Mediterranean food. I couldn't read the menu sign because this was before I got glasses, so I tapped the shoulder of the guy in front of me (David) and asked him what he gets here. I didn't realize he had headphones in so I caught him off guard. We started talking and we realized we had come from the same accounting class. We ate lunch together and said we would catch up next week and study together. So really impatience, healthy food, and accounting brought us together :)

When you select a 2 night stay, you will see the icon on the calendar for the Swain/Carlin wedding. There are a limited number of rooms available for Friday and Saturday at a courtesy rate. If you encounter any problems making a reservation or want to book a longer reservation, please contact Sandra McLoone, Director of Sales, 843-276-4849 Sandra.McLoone@Hilton.com. If you have any problems you may contact Chris Carlin 704-236-5510. Transportation to and from the wedding venue on Saturday is available to those staying at the hotel. Please indicate whether you would like transportation via the RSVP link. Transportation to the venue will leave the hotel at 4:00pm. Returning, buses will leave at 9:00pm and 10:30pm.

Will there be any transportation available?
Answer
Transportation can be available to those staying at the Cambria (our wedding hotel block). Otherwise, we suggest scheduling your ubers in advance. The venue is about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston. Please note, you can also leave your car at the venue overnight if needed.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?
Answer
Yes, both the ceremony and reception are at Runnymede events in West Ashley, Charleston. There is ample parking available.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Formal dress code with men wearing suit jackets and women wearing long dresses (midi or maxi). It is a fully outdoor venue. Wear something you are comfortable dancing in!

Should I wear my kilt to the wedding? I am worried about upstaging the bride.
Answer
Wear the kilt if you'd like! Don't worry about upstaging the bride - she will be hard to miss in white.
