Matron of Honor and Best Man
Best Man: Joey (Husband to Theresa) seeing as how we are cousins, I have known Joey my entire life. We are SO similar in humor and demeanor, family members frequently mix us up! Joey has been there for me through thick and thin and I can honestly say he never fails to put others (include me) first. He is a great cousinly therapist (personally) but also professionally for others and I am honored to call him my Confirmation Sponsor too! Never get between Joey's and my passion for boardgames and some Star Wars Battlefront! Chicka-chicka-wah!!! Matron of Honor: Theresa (wife to Joey), is a true sister in Christ. I learn from her loving, prayer-warrior spirit, and strive to be the kind of woman and wife I see in her. So much of what you will see on our wedding day is the result of ENDLESS hours, phone calls, texts, and personal Theresa touches - throughout it all, Theresa has been the embodiment of patience and support. As a result, we are blessed with the most beautiful wedding day I could have ever imagined! Thank you Theresa, for standing next to me today as my Matron of Honor.
Bridesmaid
Cheryl has been one of my closest friends for 10 years. I will never forget my first year in BSD - I was split between two schools which made it very hard to get to know and build connections with colleagues in both buildings. It was a very lonely start. Seeing this, Cheryl went out of her way to invite me to dinner one night. This act of kindness was the seed of a friendship that has continued to grow for the last 10 years. In every situation, I know that she is on my side, in my corner, watching my back, and ready to jump in to protect and fight alongside me no matter what. She lends me her strength when I need it, but most of all...she reminds me how to find my OWN strength in hard times. Our wedding day would not be complete without her in it!

Matthew (brother to Elizabeth) is one of the kindest guys you will ever meet. He has a huge heart, and thinks of others before himself. We have both had the privilege of watching him grow from boy to man, and are proud of his spirit and goodness. Matthew and Danny have loved each other as brothers for years, but today it becomes official! We are honored to have him stand beside us! As my new Brother In Law it will only be fitting that we are finally bros! I have known him since he was a wee lad of only about 10 or 11 and it has been an honor watching him grow into a super kind and loving gentleman with his own part in our lives. Matthew was the only person with us when I proposed because it was only fitting he was a part of that! Cannot wait to spend more time together chasing those great Hawaiian sunsets together and cracking up over comedies like The Other Guys together!

When I met Jess, we were both young music teachers in our first years in Beaverton School District. Fast forward to today, and we have now stood beside each other for both of our marriages, the birth of Jess' beautiful children, 4 years as teaching partners, a dozen school performances, and 10 years of friendship. From the moment we were paired together as teaching partners, it was a match made in heaven. We still refer to ourselves as the dream team, because that is truly what we were! Though we both work in separate schools now, we still consider each other our forever teaching partner. Jess has seen me through thick and thin, and my bridal party wouldn't be complete without her in it.

Renee and I met as co-workers almost 22 years ago, and have been best friends ever since. As a couple, Renee and Michael have welcomed us into their home almost every Friday night for boardgames, hard cider, and friendship. Their steadfast love and support saw us through some of the hardest years of our lives, and we are forever grateful to them for loving us through the good and the bad. We talk often about family you're born with, and family you choose...these two are family to us and we couldn't imagine our day without both of them standing by our side! (To be clear though, if it weren't for Halo on X-Box we may never have even known each other really! A big heartfelt thank you to video games for making this a possibillity).

I met Amanda when I was first hired at Scholls Heights Elementary. I deeply admired her work as a SPED teacher, which was driven by her immense heart, bottomless kindness, and her genuine, loving spirit. We became close friends through CIZE workouts and a mutual love of wine! Today, Amanda is one of my closest friends. She is a confidante, a sister, and true supporter. My morning routine is incomplete without our daily Marco Polos! We have been each other's rock in many stormy seas during the last 10 years, and will continue to be so for a lifetime!

Where do you begin expanding on a friendship/family relationship like the one I get to have with Matt Long! Matt is Joey and Theresa's brother-in-law which makes him my cousin-in-law? I don't know. Basically just say we are brothers. It's easier. Matt has the most generous heart and has helped me out in more pinches then I would like to remember. From taking a tumble on my dark porch while delivering me a delicious bourbon cocktail one late night, to rescuing me on the side of the road after a car accident, to dissecting and hauling away my mold infested washing machine! This guy has traveled with me to more 24 hour layover destinations then my own mother and father combined! If you ever need a fantastic friend and roofer, look no further! Thank you for your incredible heart and mutual love for our Catholic Faith!

For 10 years, I have been blessed to have a sisterhood of fellow music teachers in Beaverton School District. Stephanie has been an integral part of that sisterhood since the beginning. What started as a co-worker relationship has grown into a deep and caring friendship. Stephanie is a foundational piece of my life as a support, friend, colleague, and mentor. I am honored to wear jewelry from Stephanie as my "something borrowed"!

ROOMIE! Zach and I met on the phone in the spring of 2003 before I shipped off to a little ol' town in Kansas called Atchison. The birthplace of Amelia Earhart and also the location of Benedictine College. It just so happened we got paired together as freshman roommates and I remember thinking back that I couldn't have gotten a better match! From his "cowboy pooping hat", to his nightly watching of The Sandlot. Ask him if he remembers the time I snuck into the bathroom stall next to him and dumped an entire bucket of freezing cold water over his head as he sat there and...ahem. Or the time, he and his buddies were in a prank war with "the girls" and they ladies finally came with a peace treaty and offered all of us guys brownies to which I for some unknown reason said no to. The brownies were indeed tainted with ExLax. Oh, college! There WERE serious and deep sides to him too, like his passion for his faith which we shared! Zach brought me SO many laughs, so much support and a family away from family. His mother and father hosted me for Thanksgiving when I couldn't afford to come back to Oregon one year. Zach has always been the guy I think of when I recall the great memories of College and the incredible people I was blessed to have in my life back then. He still calls me his friend and I likewise still call him brother as well! It's an honor to have him by my side at my wedding as it was for me to be at his side all those years ago at his wedding!

Karalyn rounds out the magic music teacher sisterhood! This group of 4 women have been some of my dearest friends throughout my teaching journey, understanding our every day struggles in ways that only we can. Karalyn has been an absolutely essential part of this group. She is one of the best music teachers I have ever met, and I learn from her every single year. Her amazing teaching abilities are matched by her equally kind, caring, intelligent, and supportive heart. She is one that I know I can talk about anything with, free from any judgement. I am beyond honored to have her play my entrance, and to have her standing by my side!

Michael and Renee introduced us to Matt and Kendra during the pandemic, and BOY are we glad they did! During a time of so much uncertainty and worry, our friendship with Matt and Kendra brought us much needed peace and comfort, just as it still does today. Some of our favorite times are game nights with the Davis' and Pietz' together, and we are so glad they are standing next to us on our wedding day!

John Palsmeir and I go back to just before college actually! In spring of 2002, I visited Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and was assigned a room with a current freshman there. It was John! I spent nearly a week as his guest and after determining that John only made Benedictine a better place, I enrolled for that fall! While John was a year ahead of me, we were the same age so it was nice having a slight leg up on the other freshmen in that I already knew an upper classman! I was very much in the arts at Benedictine while John was usually in the sciences, but that didn't stop our seeing each other at most all events as John was the bigger social butterfly then I was even! After he graduated in 2006, I was glad to see him when he would come to visit the campus throughout the year for things like Homecoming and many other events! Sadly, after I graduated I didn't see John again for many many years. Fast forward to about 2015 when I was attending a young adult retreat in Oregon and I heard the distinct and welcomed voice of John talking somewhere in m earshot. I turned around and there he was in all of his glory! John Palsmier! As it turned out he had moved to Albany, Oregon for work. Our friendship grew a million fold as the years went on and we shared a lot of great and adventuresome memories together. While he has since moved back to Kansas, we stay in touch and I am honored he could be in my wedding at my side! The picture of him is from College 2004!

Jeff is my younger cousin by about a year! We grew up together and played sports together both as pickup ball and on little leagues and some city league teams. While he has always bested me in basketball, I have alway bested him in The Grape Escape (Old kids board game we played as youngin's! Jeff and I have been on many trips throughout the years and I have watched him grow up from the goofy empty TP Roll salesman at the age of like 6, to the engineering mastermind that he is today. It has been a blast getting to spend our lives with the fun, the hard and even the sad times together. Jeff has always been there as my buddy from fighting off the bad guys on grandma and grandpa's rocks in their back yard, to raising enough money in our 3 person club to go to Oaks Park as youth, to the many countless hours we spent playing baseball and basketball together. While he now lives in Port Townsend, Washington with his incredible kindhearted wife Christine and their adorable daughter Millie, I am honored he can be a part of my wedding at my side! I was honored to attend his wedding in Astoria, Oregon which just so happens to be the same city where Elizabeth and I got engaged! Thank you for all the amazing memories and time together Jeff!
Marriage Sponsors
Tom and Jane are especially dear guests to us. Tom is cousin to Danny's father, and has been a friend and role model all of Danny's life. Tom and Jane are our marriage sponsors, meaning they are a couple we trust and admire that journeyed alongside us during pre-marriage counseling/prep. They offered us a loving space to talk through different aspects of married life, and we are immensely grateful to them for it!
Formal invitations will be sent out in January. Kindly RSVP no later than March 1, 2025.
