While Metro Detroit is generally safe, some areas of Downtown Detroit can be "less comfortable" late at night. For convenience and peace of mind, we recommend staying north of 11 Mile Road. Areas such as Troy, Southfield, and Novi are all great options with plenty of hotels, restaurants, and things to do.
