Our Story

A Series of Fortunate Events

Like many other people our age, we initially connected online. Our first date was exactly 8 years ago to the day of our wedding (romantic, right?). We had dinner, chatted and watched TV for hours. From there, it was a whirlwind. Over the following 10 months, we saw each other nearly every day. We fell in love deeply and swiftly. We moved in together in June 2019. We had no idea just 9 short months later, we'd be quarantining together, unemployed, in the middle of a global pandemic. While some couples found it difficult to stay together after being locked in the house together for months on end, we found our time together in our teeny apartment brought us closer. In August 2022, while Percy was on an extended visit back home to California, Daniel worked with Percy's high school best friend, Lara, to design and custom make an engagement ring for Percy. He even managed to get Percy's mom to have Percy's ring finger sized for an engagement ring under false pretenses. In December 2022, with little fanfare and no photo or video documentation, Daniel proposed to Percy. In the years since the end of the pandemic, we have slowly built a life together. We have three sweet cats - Figaro, Pippin, & Louie - who keep us on our toes. We live in a neighborhood we love. We have careers that fulfill us. In December 2025, while home for Christmas with Daniel's family, we decided it was time to set a date to make things official. When we were reviewing options for 2026, it just so happened the anniversary of our first date date falls on a Saturday - it felt like it was meant to be.

Schedule

We have a smaller space available for our ceremony, so we have a limited invite list for our ceremony from 3:30 - 4:00p. If you are invited to the ceremony, when you RSVP on the website, you will have the option to RSVP for both ceremony and reception. Everyone will have the option to RSVP to the reception following the ceremony.

FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We'd appreciate your response no later than Friday, August 21st.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We're pretty flexible on dress code - we're shooting for the middle on dress code. A tuxedo or ball gown would be overdressed, but jeans or shorts and a tee would be underdressed.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

We are renting a fenced and gated parking lot around the corner from our venue. You can enter the lot from 3rd St S. You can access the venue from the lot by taking a right (West) down 3rd St S (1/2 - 1 block), and turning right (North) on 11th Ave S (1/2 - 1 block). The entrance for Day Block Event Center is on the back side of the building facing the patio/outdoor entertainment space. We'll have signs posted inside and outside to make it clear!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will begin our ceremony at 3:30p. For those invited to attend the ceremony, please arrive at Day Block Event Center between 3:00 - 3:30p.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If your kids have been invited, they are welcome to attend!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If you're invited with a guest, please feel free to bring a plus one!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Instead of a gift item registry (we have accumulated a lot of stuff living together the past 6 years) we are asking guests who wish to give a gift to contribute to our Honeymoon or Home Down Payment Nest Egg funds.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We are working on reserving a hotel block for guests visiting from out of town. We realize some folks with choose to stay elsewhere, but want to ensure there is space available in a relatively close location in case you'd like our help finding a hotel nearby our venue. We will update the "Travel" section of the website with hotel block information once we have a hotel block secured.
