Daniel and Alejandra met at Lowe's while she was going to college and slowly became friends when Daniel started helping her with a school class. Her junior year of college, she decided to move to Washington state to finish her education at the Washington State University. Over the next six years, they kept in contact keeping each other up to date. It wasn't until she finished uni and moved back to Arkansas that they began to have an interest for each other. One day, while she was walking to her brother's house, she stopped to wait for traffic to cross the street. As she looked up, she saw Daniel getting gas. It was as if they were destined to meet again after six long years. A few weeks later, they decided to go on their first date. As months went by, they started to fall in love. That was the beginning of their story.

Daniel and Alejandra had spent a few months planning their very first trip to Europe with the final destination being Switzerland. Daniel had been very secretive with all the places they were going to go to. While in Zurich, he surprised her with a trip to the Swiss Alps as it was her dream to see the mountains and waterfalls. They spent three days in a town called Grindelwald in the Jungfrau region, and on the last day of their stay, they took a gondola to the top of the Eiger mountain. As they made their way down the mountain, they stopped at a town called Wengen where they grabbed some ice cream to go sit at Alejandra's favorite spot overlooking the valley of Lauterbrunnen. While sitting overlooking the valley, Daniel waited for the least amount of people to be around. The perfect moment happened when a woman came around offering to take a photo of them in front of the valley. After taking a first set of photos, Daniel asked the woman if she could take a couple more. As they posed for the photos, Daniel dropped to one knee, taking the woman by complete surprise as she screamed "oh my god!" Alejandra looked around not knowing what was happening saying "oh my god what?!" as she started to freak out, and finally looking down to see Daniel on one knee. Daniel finally asked the question, leaving Alejandra speechless as both the woman and Daniel waited for a response. With tears in her eyes, Alejandra said "yes!"
