Friends & Family Meet-Up

We want a chance to catch-up with and spend time with our out of town guests! This event is swing-by style, so you don’t have to plan on being there the whole time. Come by & grab some light snacks and drinks and hang out with us!
Rehearsal Dinner
4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
We will be having the rehearsal in Barry & Heidi’s backyard followed by a taco bar dinner! They have an amazing pool that we’ll be relaxing at both before and after the rehearsal for the day. Bring comfortable clothes and swimsuits! (If you want to dress up a little for the rehearsal, sundresses or polos are great, but not necessary!)
Cocktail Hour
5:45 pm - 6:30 pm
There will be light bites to eat along with a small bar during the cocktail hour.
Reception
6:30 pm - 11:00 pm
We will have a full bar & catering by Mission BBQ for dinner followed by an evening of dancing and celebrating!

Crystal and Dani have been best friends since 2015 when Dani decided that they were going to be friends after meeting at colorguard camp. After many days hanging out and literally living together mutliple times, Crystal finally accepted the inevitable and has been by Dani’s side ever since. Through their mutual Hamilton obsession, binging of Game of Thrones and Grey’s Anatomy, heartbreak, and horrible bed choices (we’re looking at you futon and air mattress), Crystal has been a constant in Dani’s life. She now lives around the corner from Dani where they can visit and harass each other endlessly.

Mel and Garrett became friends in middle school when they were forced to be third wheels while their two best friends dated. Over the years their friendship grew into adulthood where they loved to kick back and relax and go on adventures. Mel is known for her bubbly personality, which balances Garrett’s introverted self. Their many adventures include a trip to Hawaii, accidentally taking a $500 Uber, and endless time spent at the beach. When Mel isn’t working, she can often be found talking to her ducks or other animals.

Emma and Dani have known each other since high school and been best friends since a road trip to tour VCU went off the rails in Kentucky. Though they have lived in separate states since high school, their friendship has endured through the love of good food, good drinks, and even better books. Emma is a talented artist and owner of Joy & Coffee Co. where she expresses herself and shares her love for hand-lettering, art, and books! Emma is always up for a long Facetime and is known for being the only logical person in their friendship, often talking Dani off of ledges both metaphorically and literally. If you want to find Emma she’s probably reading a book under a pile of cats.

Sam and Garrett met through Mel during high school. After high school, Sam and Garrett bonded when Mel moved away for college. Their shared love for Eminem and the Lakers formed a solid foundation for a friendship that has lasted through the years. She loves to spoil her son and can be found going on hot girl walks with him.

Jordan and Dani met on the second day of college in 2013 in a screenwriting class. From losing fingerprints to hot glue for a Rapunzel cosplay to standing in pouring rain for hours at Nashville Night 3 of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, this friendship has seen lots over the years. Although they fell out of touch for several years, they reconnected when Dani began working at Texas Roadhouse in Lynchburg. Jordan is responsible for Garrett and Dani’s first roadtrip together when she helped plan a trip for the three of them to New York City to see Broadway shows. Jordan is the classy and stylish friend every one needs in their lives, and your go-to gal if you ever need some killer mac and cheese.

Jeff and Garrett are cousins and played basketball together from a young age. Jeff is known for his confidence and goofy nature. From embarrassing himself in front of their entire school for fun to laughing with friends, Jeff is one of the funniest people Garrett knows. They both share a love of Pokemon and making family get-togethers more fun. If he’s not hanging out with his girlfriend he can be found traveling and sharing his travels on his Instagram.

Bryanna and Dani met on Dani’s first day of guard camp when Bryanna was her instructor. After several years of spinning under her as a squad leader and then captain, Dani became Bryanna’s assistant when she was pregnant with Sonder. The rest is history! Bryanna and Dani have been steadfast friends in the years since, with Bryanna acting as an anchor of reason in the sea of chaos that can be Dani. They share a love for good shows, good books, and great older music like Fleetwood Mac. Dani consistently jokes that she will steal Bryanna’s wardrobe one day because she wants to be her when she grows up. Bryanna is an adventurer at heart and can often be found traveling with her husband both abroad and in the US.

Ryan and Garrett met freshman year of high school while playing basketball together. After moving past Garrett hitting him with a basketball to the face, Ryan decided Garrett was alright. They bonded over playing video games together over the years. Ryan prides himself on his work ethic and can often be found planning his own wedding with his fiancé.

Brennah and Dani met at Texas Roadhouse when Brennah began working there several years ago. Dani and Brennah share a love of musicals and dance and quickly became inseparable whenever they bartended together. Brennah and her boyfriend Jake often golf with Garrett and Dani, with the girls often teaming up to outscore one of the boys. Dani loves to act as annoying older sister to Brennah and has only once almost hit her with a golf ball. Brennah and Dani bond over coaching, acting, and the overall ridiculous actions of their men. Brennah can often be found making TikTok videos or snuggling with their two dogs and cat.

Jake and Garrett met at Texas Roadhouse where they talked shop about golf and sports of all kinds. While Jake may be a Chiefs fan (which is only a detriment to Garrett), they both love to talk football and harass Brennah and Dani while playing golf. Garrett used Jake to help plan the proposal, and uses any chance he can to talk Jake into playing Pokemon Go with him.

There a lots of ways to get to our venue! There are several car rental options at every local airport that are available. We also have family across Central VA and would love to help get you connected with someone who could help you carpool to the venue. Our wedding is right around the corner! We encourage our guests to make your travel and lodging arrangements as soon as possible for the best rates and availability.

Our venue is located between Charlottesville, VA and Richmond, VA and is about 2 hours north of our home in Lynchburg, VA. Airports near our venue are the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (40 miles) and the Richmond International Airport (60 miles). Both Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. are also nearby (90 miles). When should I RSVP by?

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to give time to move to the ceremony location via golf cart

Is there a dress code?
Answer
We ask our guests to dress in cocktail attire suited for the weather. July in Virginia tends to be hot and is often humid, so fabrics like cotton and linen are recommended to keep you cool! If you’re the type of person who loves dressing to match wedding colors, you’re more than welcome to join in on the fun! (Our colors include a palette of dark green and burgundy, rich burnt orange, and neutral champagne and taupe!)

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes! Our whole day will be hosted at Avonlea Farms. The parking lot is at the front entrance to the property. You can park and then wait at the “bus stop” for golf cart attendants to ferry you to the ceremony location. They will also be available to help move guests to the cocktail hour and reception location following the ceremony.
