Roger and Daneva's story began in August 2019, not with a chance meeting in a bustling coffee shop, but with a calculated click on an app called Coffee Meets Bagel. Their first date at the Crocker Art Museum led to Philz Coffee lattes and a realization that they had found something special. When COVID hit and the world shut down, they decided to lock in together. Their friends joked that surviving a pandemic was the ultimate test, but they didn't just survive—they thrived. They turned their quarantine into a love story by creating new traditions together, binge-watching The Office, and cuddling with their two Shih Tzus, Rintoo and Kiara. Once the world opened back up, they set out to explore it, from the beaches of California to the Bahamas, collecting adventures and memories along the way. On December 28, 2024, at a sunset picnic in La Jolla Cove, Roger got down on one knee. It was a promise for a lifetime of adventure, reminding them that even though their love story began on an app, it was as real and timeless as the ocean stretching out before them.
