We're getting married in Sweden!

Do you believe in fate or just perfect timing? Because our love story starts off with at least one. We both decided last minute to attend the opening hockey night for the Anaheim Ducks in October 2019. Dane went with his two friends (Jake and Rachel) and Carissa was with her best friend and then roommate (Jessie). They happened to be sitting in the two rows behind/in front of one another. After many glances, stares, and high-fives when the Ducks scored, Carissa made the choice to find Dane on Instagram. A few months later, Dane reached out to Carissa asking her to hang out. The first time meeting, of course, Carissa had to bring her new puppy (Potato) and they had a casual dinner. Dane had a better idea for the second date and decided to fly Carissa from John Wayne Airport to Santa Monica and take her to her favorite Italian restaurant. We continued to see each other, including Dane's 23rd birthday in Newport Beach. To swoon Carissa even more, Dane invited her to Saint Marten the next month where we truly got to know each other and fall in love in the Caribbean. We finally made it official in February 2020, then continued to travel until the pandemic grounded our travel plans. During the pandemic, we had lots of time to continue to get to know one another and spoil Potato with beach walks, picnics, and dog parks. After a year of dating, we decided to make the move to Washington State where we can live near our friends (Chase and Emily) and buy a house that has a big backyard for Potato and our new puppy, Dunkin. We started to build our home and life with two crazy dogs and continuous home improvement projects. Through the years we continued to travel, explore our new home state, and visit family and friends. Having this life together, made us fall more and more in love with one another, and knew early on that we want to be each other life's partners. We are very excited to call each other husband and wife soon!
