Our Story

No to Python, but yes to marriage

HOW WE MET Ola: Dami and I both moved to the US within the same few weeks, same university, same training workshop, same group. I call it fate. Dami has a different word for it Dami: It was the beginning of my problems Ola: She mentioned she had some Python training, and I thought, great, I have found my teacher Dami: I had not finished the training 😅 He did not ask follow-up questions, and that is on him Ola: She was going to teach me Python Dami: I was not Ola: We kept in touch after the workshop, and then we started actually talking. Turns out we were both anime lovers, loved God, and had the same random opinions you don't expect someone else to have. Life happened in between, but God knew what He was doing THE PROPOSAL Ola: For her birthday in November 2025, I told her I would cook for her, be her personal chef for the full evening, and dress nicely. She was very excited Dami: To be fair, Ola can actually cook, so I was very excited. I had been saving stomach space since the afternoon (Imagine!😒) Ola: She saved stomach space from the afternoon for a dinner I did not end up cooking. There was food, just not from my hands, and we will discuss this after the wedding. Earlier that year, I had also casually told her I was proposing in December Dami: I was not impressed by that at all. Who tells someone when they plan to propose?? 🌚But fine, December, I noted it and waited Ola: The December timeline was not real 😂 She notices everything, so I had to be two steps ahead for once. I would do it again Dami: He got down on one knee in November while I was thinking about food. I said yes, obviously🙄 AND NOW Dami: Ola is patient, caring, and loves God in a way that pushes me closer to God too. He can also be funny sometimes, not always, but sometimes Ola: She is not funny, but she is everything ❤️ Dami: We love God, we love each other, and on October 24th, 2026, we are getting married in Fayetteville, Arkansas. If you are here, you are someone we love. Thank you for celebrating with us 🤗 Ola: Also, she never finished that Python training Dami: It has been years, it is not happening, maybe, we will see 😄 Ola: We will not see
