Troy and Cynthia met at a reptile expo in October of 2023. Yes, really random. A friend of CJ wanted some frogs so a few families from her hall decided to hit up Poughkeepsie’s Reptile Expo. Guess who showed up with one of the families? Troy. CJ and Troy did NOT hit it off right away… but after a few more hangouts, they both decided they didn’t hate each other. Troy bravely asked Cynthia to go to Six Flags with him and some friends. She said no. But she invited him to hang out with her the following week… which he said yes to. After a few more hangs with friends, Troy once again bravely asked Cynthia out to dinner but with only them two. She said yes. That was the start of their relationship. Through lots of pho dates, family worship, and trips all over the US of A, they got to know each other better and ultimately fell in love. Troy proposed in May of 2025 - just a little short of their one year anniversary - on a beautiful sunny day in Central Park. She said yes!
