In late May 2023, after 30+ years, we reunite again. All of this based on one phone call. We were friends years ago at a much younger age. Who would have thought we would meet again? He was just calling to say "hi" to see how I was doing and what was going on with my life. He thought I'd be married with kids. Ironically, I was still single - not married no kids. I was totally caught off guard and surprised! I just had some major changes happen in my life - a major career shift (leaving a job after 30 years), taking care of a 98yr old loved one and selling her home, etc. The last thing I was thinking was who was this man or "male species" calling me? LOL! I still did not know who he was. The things he was saying to me he would not have known unless he knew me. He even mentioned a past boyfriend from the Air Force Academy I dated. He was telling me things of my past which was almost scary unless I would have told him. After 45 minutes, we ended the call, and I had to absorb our conversation and what we talked about. I started to slowly remember who he was, but I still wasn't sure. I had to sit on it for a while. It took a week before I responded back to him and asked him to send a picture. Sure enough, it was him, Earl. He even said he tried to find me twice with no success. From the time he met me at 19 years old, he said I left this lasting impression he could not forget. I was a different kind of woman, classy, unique, "a beautiful diamond in a sea of glass." From there on, we started talking. We met again for breakfast at Black Bear Diner and hit it off from there. Our friendship slowly grew into something more. Was the Lord leading our paths to cross again? All we both can say is we are definitely blessed for it. So, when you least expect it, something wonderful can happen!
