We met in early 2017 while bouldering at Vertical Reality. I instantly thought he was very cute. -K I knew from the first time we met she was special. -Curt Through the excuse of climbing and post-climb group hangouts, we got to know each other. After some failed attempts on Curt’s end, it wasn’t until during the pandemic that we became really close. We started dating in May 2020. A lot has happened over these 4 years. Not only has our love for each other grown, but most importantly, our love and relationship with Jesus has blossomed both as a couple and individually. And now as two souls become one, we are so happy to have you guys celebrate with us!

Curtis popped the big question on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Rockcliffe Park Pavillion. But let’s backtrack! We spent the morning visiting our favourite bakery and coffee shop for snacks and reading. We first stopped by Wild Oat Bakery for their chocolatine and butter croissant. Then we made our way to Arlington 5 where we paired the baked goods with coffee in hand. We spent the morning relaxing and reading. We had originally planned to bike around all our favourite neighbourhoods in Ottawa, but because it was raining, we went to the Fraser Cafe for lunch! The rain hadn’t died down, so with some quick thinking on Curt’s part, it was straight to Rockliffe Park—where we had one of our first dates (take-out tacos overlooking the Ottawa River and Gatineau). The rain didn’t stop us from setting up the hammock in the pavilion to cozy up and continue reading our books! After some time, Curt got up to look at the view, K followed. He shared what he had read and what God had been teaching him throughout the past couple of months. That’s when K noticed him start to shake like a wet dog. After some words and mumbling, Curt dropped to one knee and popped the big question. We ended the day with another surprise. Curt had arranged for our two families to surprise K at Curt’s aunt and uncle’s place for dinner. Our favourite meal on earth is his aunt’s homemade pho. It was an awesome time having K’s parents meet part of Curt’s extended family. And now you all get to meet the family!
