Milano Malpensa (MXP)
AIRPORT: The closest airport to Lake Maggiore is Milano Malpensa (MXP). TO GET TO PALLANZA OR NEAR BY LAKE AREAS FROM THE AIRPORT: By Car (Fastest - 1 hour) Rent a car at Malpensa Airport. Take the A26 freeway towards Gravellona Toce. Exit at Baveno-Stresa or Verbania and follow signs to Pallanza. All freeways in Italy have tools, be prepared to stop and pay your tools by cash or card. Estimated time: 1 hour. By Taxi (Most Convenient, ~1 hour) A direct taxi from Malpensa to Pallanza costs around €120–€150. You can book in advance via services like Welcome Pickups or local taxi providers.
Train
Station: Verbania-Pallanza
If you arrive by train, and you were visiting another city prior to the wedding, the closest train station is Verbania-Pallanza. This station is connected with Milan and there are several routes to and from Milan every day, every couple of hours. If you are traveling to other Italian cities, such as Venice or Florence, we recommend selecting the Freccia Rossa or Italo train (high speed). Let us know if you need any help! From Verbania-Pallanza station, take a bus (Linea Omegna – Verbania) or a taxi (~15 min) to Pallanza.

This hotel is in Stresa, has a beautiful rooftop and pool. The reception will be in Stresa, so this location is also convenient for the day of the wedding.

Things To Do
La Rampolina
One of the best restaurants on Lake Maggiore (if not the best) with breathtaking view of the islands. You'll need a reservation in advance. You'll need to drive (20mins from Pallanza).
Tour of the Isole (Borromean Islands)
At the ferry station in Pallanza and you can book ferry tickets as well as the tickets to the Island's museums (old palace + gardens). There will be a ferry every 30mins. Highly recommend visiting all three islands. Both Isola Bella and Madre have a museum (old palace) you can tour, while you can enjoy a lunch or gelato on Isola Superiore (Pescatori).
Villa Taranto (botanical gardens)
This is a botanical garden. You can take a beautiful walk along the lake (15min).
