We first met on January 5th, 2020. Ryan approached Allie at a bar and she basically told him to kick rocks. But the next day Ryan persevered and friended Allie on Facebook which led to 8 months of back and forth talking on all platforms before Ryan had the courage to ask Allie to hang out again. She happily accepted and after they went out only three times, it was actually Allie who asked to make things official!

The proposal happened in Wildwood on the beach during a family portrait session with Allie's family. Allie had wanted family portraits for their new home and booked a session for her whole family to join. Ryan had already asked Allie's parents for their blessing in May of that year and knew Allie always wanted her family to be there for her engagement, so this presented the perfect opportunity. However, there were definitely some hiccups leading up to the question. Ryan was a bag of nerves the day before and day of the proposal it was a shock Allie didn't catch on. Rather she thought he was just "being weird" and "getting on her nerves." Allie's brother also was dedicated to keeping Allie off the scent and made her almost cancel the session because of his complaints of not wanting to go. Finally walking up to the beach a nearby family yelled out "is this an engagement?" To which Allie responded "wouldn't that be nice." To say she was oblivious is an understatement. Once we got to the beach and a few pictures had been taken, Ryan saw his opportunity. He was already in a kneeling position and once Allie stood up to turn around he popped the question. It took a solid minute for him to get his yes because Allie couldn't grasp what was happening. It was the best moment of their lives. They spent the rest of the night celebrating with some family and friends that Ryan had invited down to be with them.
