Maid of Honor
Allison Booth is a darling friend, a beam of light, a Renoir painting come to life. She’s colorful and classy, with a gentle way about her. She loves mint tea and 70s classics; she can tell good vintage from a dupe, she makes amazing charcuterie boards, and she can trim bangs in a pinch. She is talented in just about every way; everything she touches has a way of shimmering after. She curates immaculate vibes, throws great parties, can get the perfect tip on winged eyeliner, and will help spackle your walls if you ask nicely. She’s illustrated children’s books, hosted art shows, and is, largely speaking: a damn impressive renaissance woman. Allison is intentional, insightful, and kind. She makes the world feel fresh, beautiful, and possible. I’m honored to know her, more so even to have her in my corner. Here’s to the best Maid of Honor!
Best Man
Go ahead and roll a charisma saving throw against Jake Booth. Anyone who thinks that they can “listen to anything” has clearly never met Jake. He can and has listened to everything under the sun and beyond. There’s nothing more that they love than a good bit and bringing life to a room, and you should never count them out in a game of disc golf. They live up to their Instagram handle— somehow managing to fit your favorite movie, video game, music, book recs into a 24-hour day and being ready to discuss each at length. He loves a good bad movie, somehow always finding something redeemable. Jake’s wide swath of interests and love for pizza are dwarfed only by the love he holds for his friends. He goes beyond ride or die— he’s already had the car running. I am so incredibly lucky to have met him as my first friend in Denver, and I’m excited to get to write about him now as my best man.
