The story 'Hinged' on the very coincidental decision for two people, who had never used a dating app, to try it for the first time in the summer of 2020. For Corissa, the push to try Hinge came from her sister, who encouraged her to use the app as a way to become more comfortable with the possibility of dating. Ben, on the other hand, had got the app as a platform to deliver some of his better puns (finding love was a distant secondary goal). With a great deal of luck (hers) Ben stumbled across Corissa and sent her a message with his trademark mixture of charm and wit. Corissa found herself unable to resist a man who was smooth as whiskey and sharp as cheddar. A mere 6 months after his message Corissa's sister forced her to reply and the rest is history.
