Corey and I met at a Bible study, through Bay Area Community Church, in January of 2020. We started out as acquaintances, then became friends as we got to know each other. We went on a few casual dates in 2023. In May of 2024 I went to the annual Tolliver family Kentucky Derby party, which kicked things off between the two of us. Corey and I quickly discovered that we enjoyed spending time together and liked each other as more than just friends. That summer, I went to Michigan. While I was gone, Corey and I talked every day. When I returned we continued to date and learn more about each other on our many adventures together such as: ice skating, walks in the park, hockey games, lots of trips to DC, and a Murder Mystery to name a few. We had numerous dinners with our families and realized we both fit perfectly in to each other’s lives. In the Spring of 2025, Corey and I knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I decided to ask Corey’s mom for permission to marry her. In July, when Corey came to my parent’s house in Michigan, I proposed on the beach at Peterson Park. She said, “It was the easiest, yes!” We celebrated afterwards by going to a winery and later having dinner together. You should have seen the look on Corey’s face the rest of the day, she was beaming! We can not wait to continue our story with you in May of 2026!
