Travel

All wedding locations will be easily accessible by public transit in Oslo. We recommend staying in the city center. Some hotel recommendations below! Norwegians love hotel breakfast so do yourself a favor and include it in your stay. We recognize Oslo is expensive. Many Norwegians are out of town in July. If you're looking for cheaper options, message us and we can try to help you find an apartment stay.

Things To Do

Here are some of our favorite things to do in Oslo. We'll continue adding to this. Oslo is a nature lover's city so bring a swimsuit and hiking clothes!

Munch Museum

1 Edvard Munchs Plass, Gamle Oslo, Oslo 0194, Norway

The largest museum in the world dedicated to a single artist - Edvard Munch. It will make you Scream!

Deichman Bjørvika

1 Vestlys plass, Sentrum, Oslo 0150, Norway

Voted best new library in Europe in 2021 by the international federation of library associations. Stunning architecture and a great view!

The Vigeland Park

Oslo, Oslo 0268, Norway

Walk along the Akerselva River

Maridalsveien 17, Oslo, Norway

The Akerselva river is Oslo's green lung. It cuts between east and west Oslo. Start at Vulcan food hall and end at Nydalen (takes 1.5-2 hours). Lots of nice coffee shops and neighborhoods to explore along the way.

Sukkerbiten

Oslo, Norway

Sauna in the middle of Oslo Fjord. Make sure to book in advance as they can get busy! Several other nice Saunas around the same area like Salt and Kok.

Holmenkollen Ski Museum

5 Kongeveien, Holmenkollen, Oslo 0787, Norway

A massive ski jump on top of the closest thing Oslo has to a mountain. In the summer you can even zipline off of it...if you dare!

FAQs

If you have questions, others probably do too, so just ask! We'll continue to update this as we get closer to the date.
Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Plus ones are only welcome if they have been included in your RSVP. Unfortunately, our wedding venue capacity does not allow for guests to bring additional plus ones.

Question

Can I bring children?

Answer

Children are welcome to join the Friday gathering and Sunday brunch. However, the Saturday ceremony and celebration will be for adults only. If you have children under 1 years old or a special situation, just talk to us and we can work something out.

Question

How do I get around?

Answer

Getting around: When you're in Oslo, we recommend downloading the Ruter public transit app. Here you can buy a period ticket for one week or one day at a time. Select Zone 1 to Zone 1 and you can travel easily around the city via bus, tram, or metro. You do not need to swipe in or out of any transit. However, if a ticket-inspector comes around you will need to show them your ticket on the app. Going to and from the airport: If you are going to or from the airport you can take the train and buy your ticket via the same Ruter app. Make sure to buy a one-time ticket from Zone 4 to Zone 1 (coming from the airport) or from Zone 4 to Zone 1 (going to the airport).

Question

Do I need to join all of the events?

Answer

No. You can indicate in the RSVP what events you plan to join. If your plans change, please update the RSVP or notify us directly.

Question

What is Oslo like in July?

Answer

Oslo can be quite warm in July. The sun sets very late and rises quite early so bring an eye mask if you are a light sleeper. Also bring a bathing suit - you can go swimming in the Fjord from many spots in and around the city. Most Norwegians go on holiday in July so the city will be relatively emptier and sleepier than normal. Most shops and restaurants should be open, but their hours may be more restricted than normal.
