Long story short: we both swiped right. The following week, Preston attended a wedding in Chapel Hill (where Cece lived at the time). After unsuccessfully hailing an Uber home, Preston called Cece. Despite Preston being very drunk and practically a stranger, Cece picked him up from The Carolina Inn at 1am, knowing that the outcome was one of two things: (1) murder or (2) marriage. She is happy to report the outcome was marriage! Cece drove Preston back to his apartment the next morning, and the rest was history. We spent every weekend together watching football, playing cards, and falling in love. Three months later, on New Years Eve 2024, Preston told Cece he loved her for the first time. (She knew she loved him since Halloween but she played it cool). After a year and a half together, Preston proposed to Cece on May 23, 2025 in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. She was beyond surprised and, of course, elated. Although he is frugal and miserly, Preston let Cece run wild with her wedding planning dreams (within reason). And now here we are! We are so excited to celebrate our wedding day with our closest friends and family!
