We have opted for an intimate wedding ceremony in the Spring, but want to celebrate our engagement and love with all the people that have watched us grow up. Please join us for a special day at the beautiful Virginia House in Richmond, Virginia.
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Cocktail attire, but feel free to swap the suit for linen trousers. It is summer after all, so keep it breezy!
The event will be indoor/outdoor, with a tent and some fans. There will be hors d'oeuvres. Parking is limited, and available on the street in the neighborhood. We may reserve a parking lot at the nearby church. If you are local, please consider carpooling or taking an Uber. Scroll to the bottom to RSVP!
This intimate corner diner is right by where we first lived when we moved to Richmond. Their $35 date night deal is unbeatable for two mains & a bottle of wine or a pitcher of beer. For Lancaster folks, this is always a nostalgic throwback to me – they even have a Dutch Wonderland plate on the wall. See if you can spot it! Or, if you're like us, you'll stop for a piece of take out pie to eat in Scuffletown Park or Triangle Park right nearby.
This is across the river on the South Side, but their lamb shank tacos are one of our favorite dishes in the city. A fun restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating.
Explore Church Hill with an evening trip to Spotty Dog! There are multiple parks you can walk to from here, including Jefferson Park, Libby Hill Park, the small but mighty Triangle Park, or Chimborazo Park.
Go for a swim down at Belle Isle, or walk the pedestrian bridge that connects it to the Oregon Hill neighborhood near VCU.
Amazing, upscale southern food & great wine. We think it's priced fantastic for the quality of what you get. Make sure to make a reservation. Good for a date night out in Church Hill! Similarly, check out Alewife or Grisette for a taste of our neighborhood's food scene.
To-die-for Jewish Delicatessen, and one of our favorite spots in Richmond. It is by no means a "hidden gem". If you go on a weekend, prepare to wait next door at Stella's and sip a coffee for a bit. Well worth the wait. If you're in town longer, go on a weekday morning.
Karaoke on Saturday nights until 2am! In case you want a late night after the party. Alongside great thai food & creative cocktails.
They just got two baby porcupines! A sweet place to spend time walking around & visiting their animals. The Japanese garden is particularly stunning.
An incredible free art museum in the middle of the city with a little something for everyone.
Delicious but gets very busy in the mornings, make sure you order online!
Our neighborhood coffee and bakeshop, featuring incredible pastries and quiche on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tragically and inexplicably closed on Sundays.
Originally a greasy taco truck, now a greasy brick and mortar Mexican joint. Consistently delicious and one of our favorite takeout spots.
Boutique BNB you can find on AirBNB. This is right down the street from us!
