Our first date was in June of 2019 at She Doesn't Like Guthrie's in Lewiston for coffee... then we went out to dinner 2 days later, and then the movies 2 days later... and the rest was history!
4:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Cocktail to Semi-Formal Attire
We will have a cocktail hour with appetizers immediately following the ceremony. There will be an open bar during cocktail hour and then will remain open for beer and wine with other drinks for purchase after cocktail hour.
Hotel
The room block link is live! ** NOTE if staying here Sunday night only we recommend requesting an early check-in as check-in is at 3PM. My parents have stayed here and had good experiences. Very short walk to Baxter Brew Pub and Fishbones Restaurant, two of our favorite places to get a beer or have date night.
House Or Rental
Here is a collection of some airbnb options for those looking for a rental. These are all within driving distance of the venue.
House Or Rental
Here is a collection of some VRBO options for those looking for a rental. These are all within driving distance of the venue.
The BEST woodfired bagels, homemade flavored cream cheese, breakfast sandwiches, etc. Perhaps the best bagel in the country according to Saveur: https://www.saveur.com/best-bagel-lewiston-maine-forage-market/
One of our favorite places for a nicer date night. Enjoy a five-course dining experience that is on the way to our venue (between Lewiston and Leeds). They do brunch on Sundays with live jazz if you are looking for something fun to do before the wedding! We'd recommend getting reservations for dinner or brunch.
Kristine used to walk from her Lisbon Street apartment to the original teeny tiny tasting room at Baxter when they were first making a name for themselves. Now they have a beautiful pub with a huge beer list (as well as cocktails and other drinks for non-beer drinkers) and a great menu. They have a patio if the weather is nice! One of our favorite places to pop in to have a beer and a snack.
Another one of our favorite date night spots, an upscale grill and seafood place that always has something vegetarian-friendly as well.
What Corbin would recommend doing if you have kids. An arcade and indoor play-place that serves pizza and has prizes, what more could you want? Jokes aside, it is fun for parents too to get to play pinball and other arcade games.
An outdoor haven in Lewiston, this is a beautiful and well-maintained set of trails in the forest maintained by a local birding club. Dogs are not allowed for the birds safety, as a warning. Kristine's favorite place to go when she needs fresh air and some time in the woods (besides going upta camp).
Where we went on our first date! Unfortunately usually closed on the weekend but we couldn't have a list of things to do without Guthrie's. They have delicious smoothies, coffee/tea, burritos, quesadillas, sandwiches, and baked goods. Great for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!
Another outdoor trail option, people regularly go mineral hunting here and find tourmaline! Another well-maintained set of trails.
A park next to the falls honoring all branches of the military. They have some cool monuments like a military jeep and plane.
Kristine's favorite park! Plenty of room to run around and play next to the river, and there is a great walking path that crosses a pedestrian bridge over the Androscoggin River into Auburn that if you keep following it, it leads you to the top of the falls. Kristine's favorite running route when she was still a runner.
The Museum of Innovation Learning & Labor (MILL) - a great place to learn about the history of Lewiston-Auburn's history and culture, as well as the history of labor in the mills. You can learn more about the Bate's mill blankets and shoe factories that were an important part of Lewiston-Auburn's history. Kristine has enjoyed a tour and many events put on by the museum!
Our favorite Thai place in L/A. They primarily do takeout as a FYI!
A delicious Italian restaurant with pizza, pastas, salads, you name it. The complimentary garlic knots are incredible!
Not in L/A but not far! Pineland Farms has great trails, disc golf, tennis courts, a farm to visit, a great market and cafe. Lots to check out!
Yes! There will be a kids meal of chicken tenders, french fries, and corn available.
August 15th, so we have time to get our final counts to our vendors. Thank you for RSVP-ing in a timely manner!
The ceremony will be outdoors in the vineyard with wooden bench seating and the reception will be in a tent next to the restaurant at Willows Awake. There will be a backup plan at Willows Awake if the weather is not great. The restrooms will be inside the restaurant.
That's totally fine, especially since Kristine is a dietitian - she will make sure you get food that is safe for you to eat! You can share any dietary needs on your RSVP and we will work with the catering so you can enjoy your meal. The cake will be a typical cake so will contain gluten and dairy.
We are not having a strict dress code but if we had to make a suggestion we would say anything between cocktail attire to semi-formal would be appropriate. There will be crushed gravel and grass to navigate if that influences footwear decisions. The color palette is in the header of this page if you want to dress on color theme, but that is not at all an expectation on our end.
If you are staying at the Hampton Inn where we have a room block, there will be a school bus offered as transportation to and from the hotel to the venue. You can also drive to the venue and your GPS should bring you right there.
The ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM so please arrive before this with time to get settled, we would suggest 4:15 PM at the very latest. The restaurant at the venue is open until 3 PM so we don't suggest arriving before then.
No, Kristine will keep her last name of Kittridge, but you are still welcome to refer to us as the Sanfords.
