How It All Started

John and Cassie met through their mutual friend Corey and his sister Callie who is one of Cassie’s best friends. It all started at a pre-game for a Malaa concert in November of 2018. They played this game where they had to shake a beer can and pass it around. They videoed the whole thing and Cassie was persistent that John send the video to her. I guess you could say that she got his number first. While they didn’t talk at first, they ran into each at several shows over the next few months. In the following weeks John made it clear to her that he was interested. Over the next few weeks they went on their first date at Caesar’s and punch bowl social, before he asked her officially to be his girlfriend during spring awakening music festival the following month. From there the pair hit the ground running going on many dates from axe throwing to countless concerts, and adopting their dog Spade, before eventually picking up everything and moving across the country to Utah. They share a love of travel and adventure, skiing and the outdoors.

Wedding Party

Christina Coffman

Maid of Honor

Sisters rocking matching outfits since the 1992. Growing up we did everything together. From gymnastics, to soccer to track our parents made sure we were close. EVERYTHING was a competition, and when we’d argue, our dad made us wrestle it out. I have no shame admitting she crushed me. You can catch little Stina working on her golf swing or being the most gracious and generous host on the weekends!

Stasi Kanellopoulos

Maid of Honor

Me and my dawg stasi have been best buds since Mrs. Henry and Mrs. Heydlauff’s class in the 3rd grade. We are often mistaken for actual sisters and she’s known as “our other daughter” to my family. Stasi and I have traveled to many places together and share a love for 2000s rap, dancing, music and scrambling. It’s hard to pin down just one favorite memory from our 26 years of friendship but one memory that stands out is still from our ridiculous photo shoots from back in the day, me dancing on the table at your Grand Rapids homecoming or maybe goldlink. You can find stasi still tearing up the dance floors all over New York City!

Callie Van Oost

Bridesmaid/ Officiant

Callie and I met while I was visiting Chicago for new years eve through one of my good college friends. When I moved back to Chicago in 2018, she welcomed me into the squad and have been inseparable ever since. From drinking way to much wine for bachelor Monday’s, to our shared love of charcuterie and traveling the world together, it’s difficult to name just one of my favorite memories. One that tops the list was the the surprise birthday she threw for me! When she’s not busy, (which is rare) you catch Callie mothering her many plants, making margs or catching a show!

Miriam Varela

Bridesmaid

I met Miriam back in 2012 when we were both working as personal trainers at Xsport. I wish I could say I remember the moment we became close, but the truth is, I had way too much to drink. It was our work Christmas party and my dearest Miriam was so kind to make sure I was ok, and rode back in a cab with me to my apartment and checked in on me the next day. From then on out we hung out every weekend and have shared countless memories together. From derby parties, festivals and hitting the slopes to shred the gnar, Miriam is always down for an adventure!

Kait Krause-Todd

Bridesmaid

Kait and I met through my cousin (and other bridesmaid) Chantal for an Alesso concert. We hit it off instantly and she was someone I knew would be on my life forever. Kait’s smile will light up a room and you will feed off her good vibez. When Kait isn’t working 1000 hours, you can find her growing her plant biz, or walking her doggos Kodah and Nellie. My favorite memories are from our meticulously planned and themed quarantine parties and L8 nights with K8.

Chantal Roberts

Bridesmaid

Chantal and I grew up cousins but became close when we both moved to Chicago. At the time, we both shared frustrations with men and had nearly given up on dating all together. Ironically we started dating our partners 1 day apart, and got engaged the same year and are marrying two weeks apart ! One of my favorite memories to this day is the night your parents came to visit and took us out on the town. I can still taste the Malort when I reminisce about it. Thank you for standing by my side!

Hayley Coffman

Bridesmaid

Hayley and I were introduced when she started dating my brother and fellow groomsman Niko roughly 10 years ago, and she is now my sister. Together they share a beautiful little girl and flower girl Mila. My favorite memory with Hayley was when she flew all the way to Belize with me to celebrate my birthday. We swam with sharks, manatees and drove around San Pedro island in our golf cart. One of Hayley’s many talents (outside of being the best mom) is making some fire 🔥 bruschetta and sourdough bread!

Mila Coffman

Flower Girl

My beautiful niece Mila! Catch her showing off her footwork and dance moves on the dance floor!

Beau Blumenschein

Best Man

Meet Beau, the Packers-loving, beer brewing, pharmacist I've known since third grade. From endless games of baseball and football in the yard—typically lefties vs righties—to growing up like brothers, Beau's been my best friend since my first day of school in 3rd grade.

Ian Wexell

Groomsman

Ian, a longtime friend from my University of Illinois days. We cheered on the Cubs during their historic World Series win. Beyond baseball, we shared a passion for music, jamming together in our basement band where Ian's skills on the drums kept us rocking.

Josh McGee

Groomsman

Josh has been a close friend most of my life, despite living in different states. We've stayed connected over the years, reminiscing about our epic time at Lollapalooza 2012 and running around San Diego. He's now a dedicated father of two.

Dominic Funari

Groomsman

Dominic, or Dom, has been a friend since fourth grade, and his family even supported me during a football injury fundraiser. Our friendship has been marked by late nights of beer and foosball in the city of Chicago. Many sunny days were spent playing beach volleyball with a mix of vodka and Gatorade, creating memories and great times.

Niko Coffman

Groomsman

Brother of the bride, husband to bridesmaid Hayley and super dad to flower girl Mila. Niko is one of those people you meet in life who is truly genuine. You can ask anyone and there is not a single bad thing you can say about him! A former D1 college hockey player , there is nothing Niko can’t do!

Sam Brown

Groomsman

Sam Brown and I first crossed paths as instructors at iFly, where he taught me the ropes of belly flying. Our shared love for adventure led us to Utah, where we spent memorable days skiing down slopes, teeing off on golf courses, and camping under the stars, cementing a friendship forged through shared experiences in the great outdoors.
