One of the best parts about staying here is that you don’t really need to leave town once you arrive. Yountville is incredibly quaint and walkable. It’s also about 15–20 minutes from our wedding venue, offering both convenience and a true Napa Valley experience.

Napa Valley Railway Inn is a unique and charming boutique stay in the heart of Yountville. The hotel is historic railcars and has a unbeatable walkable location surrounded by world-class restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops. This is a great mid-range option for guests who want to be in the center of it all without needing a car once they arrive. It’s approximately 15–20 minutes from our wedding venue, making it convenient for enjoying everything Napa has to offer throughout the weekend.

Airports
Guests flying in have a few airport options when traveling to Napa. The main commercial airports are San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK), and Sacramento (SMF). While all three are about equal distance to Napa Valley, we personally recommend Sacramento (SMF) as it tends to be less congested, with easier arrivals and departures, and it allows guests to avoid most of the heavy Bay Area traffic when driving into wine country. Sonoma County Airport (STS) is the closest commercial airport to St. Helena and offers limited nonstop flights, making it a convenient option when available. For our Southern California friends looking for a more direct and convenient option, JSX semi-private air service offers flights directly into Napa County Airport (APC), which significantly reduces travel time and eliminates most of the drive from larger airports.

Guests who prefer not to rent a car for the weekend can also book a private or shared shuttle service from SFO, OAK, or SMF directly into Napa. These services can be scheduled in advance and provide a convenient way to get to wine country without needing to rely on rideshare or driving during the wedding weekend. Companies such as Groome Transportation, Napa Airporter, and other local private transfer services offer airport to Napa transportation options for a more seamless travel experience.

Schramsberg Vineyards
Schramsberg Vineyards is at the top of our list and a must visit while in Napa Valley. Cody and I are a little (okay very) sparkling wine obsessed, and Schramsberg holds a special place for us. Their cave tour and tasting experience is truly unforgettable, offering a deep dive into their historic cellars followed by some of the best sparkling wines in the valley. We highly recommend making time to visit during your trip. We’re especially excited to share many bottles of Schramsberg throughout our wedding celebration so you may become as equally obsessed as us!
Venge Vineyards
Venge Vineyards is a must for bold red wine lovers and one of our top family recommendations. Known for its rich, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon and small batch production, Venge offers an unforgettable tasting experience for anyone who enjoys big, expressive wines. This winery is especially meaningful to us as it was one of Cody’s very first Napa tastings, making it a fun stop for our weekend in wine country. Both Venge and a few of our other favorite winery picks are a bit less touristy, offering a more authentic Napa experience with stunning, peaceful scenery. They’re perfect for guests who want to enjoy the valley in a more relaxed, intimate setting while taking in some of its most beautiful landscapes.
Cliff Lede Vineyards
Cliff Lede Vineyards is a longtime family favorite and holds a special place in my heart. It was one of my very first vineyard visits on a post college trip, and it’s been a go to ever since. Known for both exceptional whites and reds, Cliff Lede offers a balanced tasting experience with something for everyone. The winery is also set against gorgeous Napa Valley scenery, making it a perfect place to take it all in. One of the most fun parts of the visit is their rock and music inspired wine names, which add a playful and memorable touch to the experience. It’s a great stop for anyone looking for incredible wine, beautiful views, and a little personality behind every pour.
Sterling Vineyards
Sterling Vineyards is one of Napa Valley’s more iconic and touristy wineries, but it offers a truly unique experience that’s worth the visit. The highlight is the gondola ride up to the winery, which provides beautiful panoramic views of the valley and makes for a memorable arrival. Once at the top, you can enjoy a self guided tasting experience while taking in the scenery. While it’s a bit more popular and visitor heavy than some of our other recommendations, the gondola alone makes it a fun and distinctive Napa stop.
Mumm Napa
Mumm Napa is a wonderful stop to mix into your Napa itinerary, especially if you want a break from heavier wine tastings. Specializing in sparkling wines, it offers a lighter, refreshing tasting experience. I’ve also personally been here, and it’s a great place to reset the palate between fuller tastings while still enjoying beautiful vineyard views and an approachable setting. Overall, it’s a fun, scenic stop that adds a nice balance to a weekend filled with bold reds and rich Napa Valley wines.

Hunnicutt Wines is a smaller, more quaint winery that also is a go-to with my family. It’s a hidden gem in Napa Valley, offering a warm, intimate tasting experience that feels personal and unhurried. Known for its bold red wines, Hunnicutt is a great stop for anyone who enjoys rich Cabernet and classic Napa style blends. One of the highlights is their cave tasting experience, which adds a really memorable and unique element to the visit. While it’s less “touristy” than some of the larger estates, that’s part of what makes it so special because it’s about quality wine and beautiful surroundings.

Artesa Vineyards & Winery is one of my parents absolute favorite wineries in Napa Valley. Perched on a hilltop, it offers some stunning panoramic views in the region, making it as much about the scenery as it is about the wine. Known for its elegant architecture and beautifully crafted wines, Artesa is a perfect place to take in the landscape. It’s a memorable stop that combines great wine, peaceful surroundings, and one of the best viewpoints in Napa Valley.
HALL Wines St. Helena
HALL Wines St. Helena is a modern and striking winery that combines bold architecture with beautiful vineyard scenery. Known for its sleek design and large scale art installations. The wines, especially their Cabernet Sauvignon, make this a great stop for bold red lovers. It’s also a favorite within my family.
Cakebread Cellars
Cakebread Cellars is a longtime favorite of my parents and a true Napa classic. Known for its consistently high quality Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and warm hospitality, it offers one of the most approachable and well rounded tasting experiences in the valley. The estate itself is beautiful and welcoming, making it a perfect stop for guests looking for a relaxed but elevated Napa experience.
Opus One Winery
Opus One Winery is one of Napa Valley’s most prestigious wineries and known worldwide for its luxury Bordeaux-style wines. This is another top rated stop on my family's list. The tasting experience is elegant, refined, and highly curated, offering an opportunity to visit one of the most recognized names in wine. It’s a special stop for guests looking for a truly elevated and memorable Napa experience.

Nickel & Nickel Winery is a beautiful single vineyard Cabernet focused winery known for showcasing the unique character of Napa’s different AVAs. Each tasting highlights wines from a specific vineyard, making it a really interesting and educational experience for red wine lovers. The estate is stunning, and the tasting is both relaxed and highly informative.

Domaine Chandon is a perfect option for guests staying in or near Yountville. Known for its sparkling wines and vibrant, modern atmosphere, it offers an easy and enjoyable tasting experience that’s ideal for a casual stop. With its beautiful patio, lively energy, and convenient location, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a glass (or bottle) during your time in Napa Valley.
Castello di Amorosa
Castello di Amorosa is one of Napa Valley’s most recognizable winery experiences, often referred to as the “castle winery.” Built in a Tuscan medieval style, it features towers, courtyards, a drawbridge, and themed tasting rooms that make the visit feel like stepping into another world. It’s a more tourist forward stop, but that’s part of what makes it so fun. People come just as much for the castle experience as for the wines. With a wide selection of reds, whites, and dessert wines, plus guided tours throughout the property, it’s a really fun and distinctive Napa experience. I also visited Castello di Amorosa back in college on a trip, and it’s a great first timer visit!

Domaine Carneros is one of Napa Valley’s most iconic sparkling wine estates and is known for its stunning château architecture. Inspired by a French château, the property feels elegant and elevated, making it one of the most picturesque stops in the valley. They are best known for their sparkling wines, offering a beautiful tasting experience on their terrace overlooking the vineyards. It’s a perfect place to enjoy a relaxed, scenic tasting especially if you’re a sparkling wine lover like us. This is also one of those classic Napa stops that feels both beautiful and approachable, and a great way to start or end a day of exploring wine country.

Yes! Our dress code is spring formal attire. We encourage guests to wear their best dresses, preferably in bright spring colors and florals to match the season and setting. For men, beige, light colored suits, and colored blazers are welcomed.

No, children are not invited to the wedding. We’re hosting an adult only celebration in Napa since the weekend is centered around wine country experiences and there aren’t many kid-friendly activities or events in the area. Yes most Napa wineries require reservations, especially for seated tastings and weekends. We recommend booking far in advance to get your preferred wineries and timing, as walk ins are limited and not always available.
