Once upon a time at Penn State
We met through mutual friends at a tailgate during the Penn State football season. We became good friends, and during COVID we spent a lot of time together with our group. We laughed, danced, watched TV shows, and—most importantly—ate all the time. Every moment we shared brought us closer. We loved making fun of each other and philosophizing about life. We realized that on the surface we’re very different, but at heart, we’re the same person. After five years together, here we are… celebrating this union with you.

Haldi is a pre-wedding ceremony where turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom. It’s a joyful tradition meant to bless the couple with good luck, glowing skin, and protection before the wedding.

You’re welcome to wear a saree or lehenga (for women) or a kurta (for men). Traditional Western clothes are also welcome.
* This is the main event of our getaway! Please be prepared for pictures, drinks, dancing, and food. Boys - just buy different kurtas in colours and can be worn for different functions. They can ‘size up’ so that it’s not a problem when they try it and typically kurtas are supposed to be a loser fit for men/boys. They can buy these in cotton, silk or cotton silk options depending on what’s comfy for them. Note that Goa will be slightly humid so cotton silk/cotton will be breathable. Girls: Pre-draped sarees are an option for the cocktail if you really want to wear a saree. Lehengas are better for dancing, eating, and walking around without worrying about carrying or wrapping one. Boys: You can purchase different kurtas in various colors to wear for different functions. You can size up if you prefer, and kurtas are traditionally meant to have a looser fit for men/boys. They come in cotton, silk, or cotton-silk blends—choose whatever is most comfortable for you.
