Travel

Flight

Fiumicino International Airport

This is the Rome international airport FCO. Most flights from Miami arrive next day Italy so please take this into account when planning your flights. Direct flights available only with ITA Airways.

Travel Note

Transportation in the City- Uber- Airport Transfer

Uber or taxi is easy to get in the city. All of Ubers cars are “Uber black” so they are very comfortable and most of the time even if you order for less people, you’ll get a nice black van! We also had a great driver apart of the "DECUS" Company and the company link is below if you wanted to pre-book your airport transfer.

Travel Note

Where to Stay

There are a lot of hotel, and Airbnb options in Rome in different price ranges. If you have a larger group, we suggest Airbnb as a great price for the value. As for hotel, our wedding planner recommended Le Meridien Visconti and NH Roma Centro. We have room blocks in both hotels and will be staying at the NH Roma Centro. Right below this is the link to Airbnb.

Hotel

Le Méridien Visconti Rome

37 Via Federico Cesi, Roma, Lazio 00193, Italy

This is one of our room block hotels. It is very central and has breakfast included.

Hotel

Hotel NH Collection Roma Centro

324 Via dei Gracchi, Roma, Lazio 00192, Italy

This is the other room block that we have (where we will be staying). It's only 4 minutes walking distance to Le Meridien Visconti. We have limited availability of room blocks in this hotel but please reach out if you are interested to claudiatcalleja@gmail.com

Travel Note

Passport Tip

Six months passport validity is required. This may be a good time to check those expiration dates!

Things To Do

List of Things to do in Rome

Big Bus Tours Rome

Big Bus Tours Rome

208 Via Nazionale, Roma, Lazio 00184, Italy

This is a great and efficient way to see the city if you’ve never been. We did this and it stops at all the main attractions with busses coming by the stops every 15 minutes. Or you can stay on the bus the entire route :)

Café Mémé bistrot- Breakfast

Café Mémé bistrot- Breakfast

109 Via degli Scipioni, Roma, Lazio 00192, Italy

This place was amazing for breakfast! Especially if you’ve had a few days of just croissants and coffee for breakfast. For example, we had bagels with eggs and pancakes :)

All'Antico Vinaio- Sandwiches

All'Antico Vinaio- Sandwiches

3 Piazza della Maddalena, Roma, Lazio 00186, Italy

Great sandwich shop with fresh cut deli! It also has a bit of a line outside the restaurant but it moves fast and is well worth it! We bought these, and ate it near steps by the pantheon!

Cantina e Cucina- Lunch/Dinner

Cantina e Cucina- Lunch/Dinner

87 Via del Governo Vecchio, Roma, Lazio 00186, Italy

An absolute must in Rome! Andres & I love it here. The only thing is you have to arrive early to make a line outside the restaurant but it goes by fast.

Negresco Bocca di Leone- Lunch/Dinner

Negresco Bocca di Leone- Lunch/Dinner

92 Via Bocca di Leone, Roma, Lazio 00186, Italy

If you’re by the Spanish steps and/or Trevi fountain, check out this place for lunch. We loved the food and service.

La Fiaschetta - Lunch/Dinner

La Fiaschetta - Lunch/Dinner

64 Via dei Cappellari, Roma, Lazio 00186, Italy

Great local restaurant recommended by our planner. We really liked it & it’s a nice deviation from the more touristy places.

Osteria da Fortunata

Osteria da Fortunata

11/12 Via del Pellegrino, Roma, Lazio 00186, Italy

A "can't miss" in Rome!

FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes the dress code is Black-Tie. Black tuxedos for men and floor length gowns for women. Ladies, please cover your back and shoulders for the Church. A shawl may be a good idea!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

See our travel page for room block and stay recommendations!

Question

Where can I rent a tuxedo in Rome?

Answer

If you're not bringing a Tux from home and would like to rent in Italy, this place was recommened by our wedding planner. It is called Sartoria Misano and their email to make an appointment is info@misanonoleggioabiti.com

Question

Transportation

Answer

Each guest is responsible for getting to the church via uber or taxi. Right after the ceremony is done, there will be buses waiting outside the church to take everyone to the venue. At the end of the night, the venue's front desk will help everyone call taxis.

Question

How will the weather be in October?

Answer

We visited Rome in April, and the locals told us that the weather is very similar to October. The weather forecast will show a cool evening and warmer day but we recommend a light sweater because when it’s 65 and the sun is out, it feels HOT HOT. Basically, Miami Winters.

Question

Where can I blowdry my hair?

Answer

If you would like to have a professional blowdry your hair, the salons are clossed on Sundays, hence the day of the weddding but you can visit Michelle Beaute in Prati on Saturday.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your date was listed on your RSVP, we will be excited to welcome them!

Question

What color are the bridesmaids wearing?

Answer

The bridesmaids will be wearing sky blue.

Question

I have more questions, who can I contact?
