How We Met
That Summer, he was working as a delivery driver in between semesters at CMU, and she had just started as the new counter girl at Hungry Howie's Pizza in Alpena. A solid friendship quickly formed through many shenanigans, inside jokes, and general malarky. They went their separate ways after Kendra left for college in 2011, but met up again in Grand Rapids to celebrate her 21st birthday. And Huzzah! It was that moment where they realized this could be something special <3
The Proposal
On May 15th, during a family trip to Mackinac Island, Chubby proposed at Arch Rock. Together over the years these two had built a pretty wonderful life. Through the college years, multiple moves around the state, and the birth of their beautiful daughter Aria, they have loved and supported one another through thick and thin. When he took a knee and revealed that Tiffany Blue Box... she, of course, said yes! 'Bout time! <3
The Plan <3
As most of you know, we both come from very large families and venues do have their limits! However, we have devised an option that we hope will accommodate our families, out-of-town friends, and our local friends as well! The wedding will be split into two groups, Day Guests and Evening Guests. Everyone will receive a VIP pass upon arrival to the venue that will serve as your ticket to all of the festivities. Look for the blue lanterns. Question
When should I RSVP by?
Answer
As soon as possible if you are able. We will be cutting off the count for the seated dinner by March 15th! However, everyone is always welcome for the Evening Guest option if you miss the deadline but still would like to join us <3

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but feeling fancy is encouraged!

Can I bring a date?

We have tried to already accommodate and include most significant others or potential +1s, but please reach out and let us know if we forgot to include someone! <3

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?
Answer
Yes! We have a phenomenal chef who is willing and able to work with us for most dietary restrictions. Please let us know what you need <3

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Art in the Loft is located on the 3rd floor of the Center Building in Downtown Alpena. There is a large parking lot directly behind the building itself, but really any downtown parking is within a short walking distance <3

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?
Answer
We have suggested using the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. This hotel is directly across the street from our venue. A safe and easily stumbled distance if necessary!

Where are the bars located?
Answer
A limited menu of beer, wine, and mixed drinks can be had at the bar upstairs in the Loft (3rd floor), while in the alleyway just around the back of the building (1st floor outside) you will find a bar more fitting to the national holiday <3 Designated smoking areas will be limited to the alleyway or parking lot as to be respectful of non-smoking guests. Do we have to attend the 420 Show?

We fully understand that our punky music isn't always for everyone. For those who do not wish to participate in the concert portion, we will have your regular wedding reception activities still happening upstairs <3 But I promise we are pretty fun! :p

Is the wedding kid friendly?
Answer
Art in the Loft has a phenomenal creative classroom space! I will have it set up with markers and activity sheets for the kids to color and create throughout the evening. Or to use as a quiet spot to take a rest. There will also be a second dance floor upstairs in the Loft with your typical wedding reception playlists to enjoy <3 All kids are of course welcome to join us downstairs for the concert! We know Aria will be down there dancing the night away! But parents please be advised, that it is a 420 themed punk show. Use your discretion as you would prefer <3
