Sacramento (SMF) airport is best!
The mass will begin at 11 am so aim to be seated in the church by then!
Yes! There’s parking at both the Vietnamese Martyrs Church and the Asian Pearl
We would love it if you take pictures during the reception! We appreciate all those taking and sharing photos during the reception :)
You are free to do whatever in the time in between! Explore Sacramento! Take a nap at your hotel/airbnb! Or change into another smashing outfit! Enjoy this break! :)
It will likely still be in the high 80s and can drop down to the 50s at night! Almost zero percent chance of rain 😅

Yes! If you will be in town on Friday 9/11, please reach out to either Chris or Mia!
If you're visiting Sac, this is usually a go-to that any Sac native would suggest as a place to visit for a casual but novel outing. Enjoy the historic streets, river views, cute shops, and lots of tasty treats. Check out Evangeline’s, Stage Nine, and the fun candy shops for some nostalgic sweets! 🍭🍬
The Esquire Imax Theatre is highly renowned among film enthusiasts in Sacramento as it is one of only 25 in the United States and 41 in the world that is equipped to project authentic 15/70mm IMAX film on a massive 80 feet wide and six stories high screen.
Bacon & Butter is unique to Sacramento and known for creative, made-from-scratch comfort food, generous portions, and a farm-to-table approach using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. It’s also MICHELIN-recognized, making it a must-try for a delicious Sacramento brunch! 🥓🍳 They’re open Wednesday through Sunday, 8 AM to 2 PM. Just a heads-up, it can get pretty busy, especially on weekends, so be prepared for a possible wait or long line.
A Sacramento classic since 1982, Leatherby’s is a beloved family-owned spot in Elk Grove known for huge sundaes, homemade treats, and old-school charm. They also serve classic comfort food like burgers, sandwiches, salads, fries, and shakes if you’re looking for more than just ice cream. If you do visit, one cool thing you may notice is the crucifix displayed on the wall (a reflection of the Leatherby family’s Catholic faith and heritage).
Check out Sacramento’s Little Saigon for a variety of Vietnamese & general Southeast Asian food, bakeries, markets, and local shops. This area can be pretty hectic and crowded, especially when it comes to traffic, so keep that in mind and drive safely! If you’re craving bánh mì (or have never tried it before), Đức Hương is a must-try, one of Sacramento’s most beloved spots for a fresh, flavorful Vietnamese sandwich (they do NOT skimp on the filling here).
Try Oz Korean BBQ, one of Sacramento’s original Korean BBQ spots known for their all-you-can-eat option of meats, traditional Korean sides, and tabletop grilling! Founded and owned by a Korean family, Oz has been serving authentic Korean BBQ since 2004 at their Bradshaw location (their Elk Grove location opened in 2013), and they're still one of the go-to food spots for lots of KBBQ lovers in Sac.🥩🔥
No California trip is complete without In-N-Out! 🍔 It's probably safe to say that most California natives love it for how affordable the price is for such decent quality burgers (it's a step above the typical fast food burger for sure). All the fries are made fresh with actual potatoes on-site and tend to be on the soft side which some people prefer, but if you want them to be crispier, order them "light well." (FYI just look up the In-N-Out special menu online to learn specific, helpful terms when ordering).
A true Sacramento classic since 1940 and still going strong, Gunther’s is a local favorite known for its homemade ice cream, nostalgic charm, and famous fruit freezes. It’s one of those uniquely Sacramento spots that locals have loved for generations (and the prices have remained pretty reasonable). 🍓🍦
Grab a fun Korean-inspired treat at SomiSomi! Try their famous Ah-Boong, a Korean take on Japanese taiyaki, a fish-shaped waffle-like pastry traditionally filled with sweet red bean or custard (though Somisomi has a bunch of other different fillings you can choose from). You can have the taiyaki with your choice of filling and soft serve and/or order the taiyaki by itself without the ice cream. 🐟🍦
Try Salvatore’s Gelateria, a local Elk Grove favorite serving authentic Italian-style gelato! Their gelato is genuinely high-quality and they have classic flavors as well as cool specialty flavors on rotation. It’s a small, family-owned spot and their gelato is handcrafted fresh in-house daily using traditional techniques (with lots of their ingredients imported straight from Italy).
Salt & Straw is known for its super creative flavors and rich, homemade-style ice cream. They do have some great classic flavors though they're mostly known for their stranger, unique combos and new monthly flavors (i.e. Arbequina Olive Oil, Pear & Blue Cheese, etc). They’re located in Ice Blocks, a cool little shopping and dining area in Midtown Sacramento built around a former ice manufacturing plant. Take a walk around the area to check out the other shops and restaurants (Shake Shack is only a small block away). 🍦✨
