Things To Do

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park

Park on one of the side streets and take a walk along the cliffs! We love Sunset Cliffs for its dramatic ocean views and incredible sunsets!

La Jolla Cove

Cabrillo National Monument

1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, CA 92106

This is one of the most spectacular views of San Diego! There is an old lighthouse as well as a visitor center and also some amazing tide pools to explore! We recommend looking at the tides before your visit, best time to see the tide pools is low tide. There is also a small hiking trail if you are interested in getting some exercise. Cabrillo is operated by the National Park Service. Price is per car so we recommend carpooling! Be sure to also check out the historic Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery before or after your visit to Cabrillo.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, San Diego, CA 92037

Beautiful short and long hikes and beautiful views of the ocean! Torrey Pines is north of La Jolla. On your way out, be sure to drive by the famous Torrey Pines golf course!

Windansea Beach

Neptune Place and Nautilus Street, La Jolla, CA 92037

This is another one of Christina's favorite beaches in San Diego. Parking can be tricky, we recommend parking a little further away in the neighborhood and walking down. Beautiful spot for photos. Keep your food close - the ground squirrels are relentless if you're picnicking on the rocks!

Coronado Island

Coronado, CA 92118

Visit the historic Hotel del Coronado and enjoy the beach! Grab a drink at the hotel bar or some ice cream at the hotel! There is a nice beach path right next to the that is open to the general public. There are also a lot of fun shops to explore along Orange Avenue. We love Coronado Brewing Company! *Christina’s favorite Mexican restaurant here is Miguel’s Cocina (1351 Orange Avenue). Be sure to try the queso dip.

Balboa Park is a San Diego landmark. It includes beautiful Spanish style architcture, fountains, an outdoor botanical garden and museums.

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101

Ocean Beach - Places to Eat & Drink

San Diego, CA 92107

Ocean Beach is our neighborhood. It is an eclectic/BoHo vibe beach neighborhood and you might spot the occasionally OG hippie! If you are looking for some local eats or craft brews, here are a few recommendations: 1. OB Noodle House Bar 1502 (home of Screwball - peanut butter whiskey! try a peanut butter whiskey shot they are good!!! 2. Pizza Port Ocean Beach - good pizza, tons of beers on tap and an active brewery (Pizza Port Brewing Co) 3. Cesarina - our favorite Italian restaurant - definitely make reservations or go for lunch/brunch. You will NOT be disappointed 4. Killowatt Brewing Ocean Beach - local brewery, also fun games like adult lite brite and jenga 5. Hodad's Ocean Beach - great burgers, really good milkshakes! **FUN OB (Ocean Beach) FACT: Check out the opening of the 2000 movie "Almost Famous.." the opening scene is filmed on Newport Avenue in our neighborhood!

FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all of your little ones, we are only able to include children from our immediate families in our celebration. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Parking/Driving - Ceremony & Reception

Answer

For those who plan to drive to the ceremony and reception, there is a small parking lot at Sacred Heart across the street from the church entrance. There is some street parking in the neighborhood where The Thursday Club is located. At the reception, we will be celebrating with good food, love, and plenty of drinks! If you'll be partaking, please plan ahead with Uber, Lyft, or a designated driver.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Absolutely! For those of you used to fabulous public transportation, San Diego doesn't have it. If you are coming from out of town, it would be very beneficial to consider renting a car. San Diego has lots of great things to see! If you are looking to visit local attractions, Uber and Lyft are also reasonable options.
