How we met

Efthimi and Christina met in 2017, at an Opera MODO performance of "Hansel and Gretel" in New Center Park. As a fundraising representative for Opera MODO, Christina habitually greeted all audience members at performances, thus making her way to Constantine and Efthimi. She was delighted to discover that this was "the" Timmy, the one about whom other friends had told her, and whom they had referred to as "a philosopher." And Efthimi, for his part, was delighted to discover that such a drop-dead beautiful, warm, and friendly person had taken notice of him! But with a long beard and a stoic sensibility, after that initial meeting, Christina never dreamed Efthimi would be interested in her. They crossed paths a few more times in the coming weeks, but a month later, Christina went to France for 2 months. Fast forward to May 2018, when a friend put them back in touch, suggesting that Efthimi could help Christina create recordings for an upcoming project, and that she could help him secure a position teaching bass in Detroit. They chatted via Facebook Messenger. They exchanged emails. He sent her his music. She sent him her project. A few days later, Christina received an email from Efthimi in response to her project samples. He loved it. He wanted to work on it. He sent her the email at 2:11 am, expecting her to respond the following day. But she was awake, and was thrilled to discover that he was, too. She considered the possibility that they may be kindred spirits... As they began creating together, their affection for each other emerged. When Efthimi finally confessed his feelings for Christina, on August 20th, 2018, after a long conversation at Honest John's, she confessed that they were mutual. And they lived happily ever after!
