A love story may not have a dramatic beginning, and ours just began with a not-so-romantic coincide. We were deskmate in a SAT class in the July of 2013 in Beijing. Despite we both did terribly on SAT later, the class was still the best $1000 investment we have ever spent in our lives, for both of us — I am sure you can tell.
For the past ten years, from 2013 to 2023, we were in school together for the most of time — University of Oregon in the United States, Senshu University and Waseda University in Japan. However, there is no book on this planet that could better teach us about each other than ourselves - us simply being together. We study together, travel to foreign countries together, and experience every moment together in our life. Our life is very simple, but it is fulfilled with unconditional love.
We used to say, people in love don’t need extra piece of paper, the marriage certificate, to secure or prove the relationship, if they truly believe their love will be forever — a piece of paper won’t change anything about our life together. However, as we are moving into the next ten years, we accepted the other way to look at this — why don’t we just turn the “useless” paper into a chance to celebrate love with our loved ones together?
