💛 How We Met Some love stories start with long speeches, destiny signs, or dramatic movie scenes. Ours started with a mutual friend who clearly saw something we didn’t see yet. One minute we were minding our individual business, the next minute, boom!!! numbers were exchanged, phones were ringing, and apparently someone was already forming “bold guy.” But let’s be honest… Priscilla messaged first. And yes, she will deny it if the story is ever told in public. From the very first conversation, something just clicked. Maybe it was the banter, maybe it was the way the gist flowed like we had known each other for years, or maybe it was the fact that she was bold enough to walk straight into my life without fear or shyness. (I still rate her for that move till today.) Then came the first meet-up—the true test. Ice cream, snacks, laughter, eye contact, unnecessary teasing… and then that moment when the world goes quiet but your heart is suddenly loud. Somewhere between the second scoop of ice cream and the third round of playful insults, I looked at her, and I just knew. Not “maybe.” Not “let’s see where this goes.” Just certainty. So I told her, straight up, “You’re the one.” (Please don’t ask if she believed me. She laughed first.) But as time passed, that laughter turned into understanding, comfort, and something deeper. We started communicating in a way that required very few words… and sometimes no words at all. And whenever life tried to be dramatic, we somehow always found our way back to each other, arms crossed but hearts already melting. That’s when we knew — this thing is real. Of course, I said “I love you” first. No surprise there. It slipped out one day during one of her visits. I was trying to behave, trying to package, trying to play it cool, but my heart was clearly tired of pretending. So the words just escaped before my brain could stop them. Her reaction? Let’s just say she blushed like she wasn’t expecting it, even though we all know she was. Fast-forward to the proposal: It was a calm Sunday afternoon after church. She was at my place, relaxing as usual, probably thinking about food. I told her, “We need to talk.” (Yes, the dangerous sentence.) She sat up immediately, expecting one deep conversation that would take hours. Midway into talking, I went silent, took a breath, and then knelt. The shock on her face? Premium. Luxury. Unfiltered. Eyes wide, mouth open, hands on her head — the whole package. But once the shock wore off, joy took over. And just like that, the moment we had both been building toward fell beautifully into place. Now here we are — building a life founded on laughter, understanding, loving fights, make-ups, and the kind of bond you can’t manufacture. We get each other. We choose each other. We’re excited for forever. And if you’re wondering what the funniest part of our love story is, here it is: She messaged first… but I won forever.
