Join us for an intimate celebration in Copenhagen

We’re getting married on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and we’re keeping things simple: just love, good food, and great vibes with our closest people, in one of our favourite cities in the world. It’ll be an intimate, low-key celebration, with a cocktail reception from 3:30pm and dinner at 6:00pm at Kanalhuset, along the canals of Christianshavn. Please RSVP by 15 February, 2026. x Cheryl & Eric

FAQs

Question

📍Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

We’re getting married in Copenhagen on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Our civil ceremony will take place in the morning with just close family and witnesses. We’d love for you to join us later in the day for the main celebration: 3:30 PM – Cocktail reception at Kanalhuset 6:00 PM – Seated dinner, followed by an intimate after-party

Question

✈️ When should I arrive in Copenhagen?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Friday, August 21, to settle in before the wedding day on Saturday, August 22, 2026. There may be a casual welcome get-together on Friday — details to come!

Question

🕒 What’s the schedule for the day?

Answer

Morning: Civil ceremony at City Hall (with close family & witnesses) Late afternoon (3:30pm - 5:30pm): Guests arrive at Kanalhuset for drinks & mingling Evening (06:00pm - 10:00pm): Dinner, toasts, and a relaxed after-party at a nearby bar

Question

🥂 Will there be events outside the wedding day?

Answer

We’re thinking about organizing something casual the night before the wedding — likely welcome drinks at a cozy spot nearby — but nothing is confirmed just yet. If it comes together, it’ll be super relaxed and optional. We’ll share more details closer to the date!

Question

🧵What should I wear?

Answer

We'd love for you to dress up just enough to feel a little special, but there's no need for black-tie or anything overly formal. Flowy dresses, jumpsuits or midi skirts would be perfect. For men, collared shirts, relaxed suits, or a jacket and trousers work well — no tie required (unless you like one!). Bonus points for linen, natural tones, or pops of personal style. 👟 Shoes Copenhagen’s cobblestones are charming but not the most high-heel friendly. We'd recommend comfortable footwear — flats, block heels, loafers, or smart sneakers are totally welcome.

Question

🛌 Where should I stay?

Answer

The wedding venue, Kanalhuset, is located in Christianshavn, a lovely neighborhood by the canal in Copenhagen. While it is beautiful, Christianshavn is also quite small, and Kanalhuset is offering only 10 rooms, including the bridal suite for us. Here's how we’re allocating them: - First priority will go to family members traveling from afar - Next, to guests attending with young children - Any remaining rooms will be offered to other guests on a first come, first served basis We’ll reach out to those who are allocated a room separately. Since we don’t live in Copenhagen, our local knowledge is limited — but based on a few lovely trips we’ve made while planning the wedding, we can recommend two areas that are convenient, well-connected, and full of charm: Vesterbro – lively, creative, and full of great food spots Indre By (city center) – walkable, historic, and right in the heart of things Christianshavn - where the wedding will be taking place, adjacent to the city center There are plenty of boutique hotels and Airbnbs in both areas, and Copenhagen is easy to get around by public transport, Bolt (local Uber equivalent), or on foot.

Question

🍽️ Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Yes! You’ll be well fed throughout the event — canapes will be served at the cocktail reception at 3:30pm followed by a 3-course dinner, and drinks will be flowing. If you have any severe dietary restrictions, please let us know in your RSVP form. (Please note: The venue may not be able to accommodate food preferences, but we’ll do our best to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable.)

Question

🧒 Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Yes — we’d love to have your little ones with us to celebrate! That said, we’re not entirely sure how child-friendly the venue is, since it’s a historic space and the event is not specifically set up for kids. We figured it’s best to mention this so you can plan accordingly. If you're bringing your kiddos (especially if they are under 5), we’d really appreciate if you could: Bring along food/snacks they’ll enjoy, as the wedding menu is fixed and may not suit tiny taste buds. Pack anything they might need to stay happy and comfortable — toys, books, favorite cuddly things, you know the drill better than we do ❤️ We can also request high chairs from the venue — just let us know in advance so we can have them ready. As we don’t have kids ourselves, we may not have thought through every detail — so thank you in advance for coming prepared. We can’t wait to celebrate with the whole family!

Question

🎁 Are you doing a wedding registry?

Answer

We’re not doing a traditional gift registry — your presence truly is the greatest gift we could ask for, especially as many of you are traveling to be with us in Copenhagen. If you still feel moved to mark the occasion in another way, a small contribution towards the celebration is warmly appreciated but entirely optional. For those who’ve asked, we’ve set up the following options: Bank account (N26): DE60 1001 1001 2732 9968 20 Paypal: @lyrehcagain Venmo: @Arnell
