How We Met
One frosty January morning in 2014, the universe quietly conspired, and Jakub and Cally's lives intertwined for the very first time. They were both Orientation Leaders (OL) working to create a bright future for incoming students. During one of their OL outings, Jakub brought his roommates 'Cards Against Humanity' game. It was their very fate that a fire alarm sent Cally running out the building the opposite direction of Jakub, with cards still in hand. Jakub, with $100 (at the time game worth) and his roommates wrath on the line, finessed Cally's phone number in hopes of getting back his cards. Despite cards returned, conversations afterwards continued and blossomed. What was supposed to be a simple card delivery ended up being a decade of endless laughter, travels, and memories.

This is my first destination wedding - what responsibilities should I expect?

Plan this like your own vacation—you’ll handle/pay for your hotel, flights, and meals (except the wedding day and events stated 'paid for bride/groom'). We will cover the finances for planned events, which are optional to attend, but we’d love for you to join! Feel free to arrive early or stay longer.

Do I need a VISA?
Answer
As per US Department of State website, "U.S. passport holders do not need a visa if they are traveling to Croatia for tourism or business for less than 90 days within a 180-day period". This also applies for Canadian passport holders. UPDATE: Most recent update from EU will require an ETIAS travel authorization to travel to Croatia from USA. This is NOT in operation for the first half of 2025. No action is required from travelers at this point. We are closely monitoring on the launch date. Cost is about 7 Euros per person. Once approved, it's valid for 3 years and covers all of Europe. Steps to take at this time: 1.) Follow updates at "https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en" 2.) Early applications. Do not wait. Most approvals are instant, but there can be hiccups. 3.) Check passports now. Make sure passports are valid for at least 3 months after departure from Croatia Again, we are closely monitoring and will send out reminders when EU launches applications mid 2025.

Semi-formal/cocktail attire for the wedding. Please refrain from wearing white (reserved for the bride). For all other events, dress codes are to your discretion but most importantly be comfortable!

Based on previous years, daytime is expected to be 68-77 °F and nighttime is expected to be 54-61 °F. Areas such as Dubrovnik are usually warmer around this time of year. Ceremony and reception will both be outdoors.
