Just Friends
"We officially met in February of 2019. It started off as a good friendship, we started doing our hobbies together: playing sports, camping, hikes and dancing. February of 2022 we took a road trip to Yosemite National Park with family. That is when I started seeing her more than a friend. A year passes and I kept the feelings to myself, we hung out more and the more time we spent together the more the feelings grew." -Cesar "I will say I did consider Cesar a really good friend. I didn't know he liked me but part of me had a feeling he did have at least a crush on me. I could tell how attentive he was. I tried ignoring those signs because I didn't want to ruin a good friendship. But as we enjoyed all those activities together our friendship grew stronger." - Cynthia "A year later, February of 2023 I told Cynthia how I felt about her at Keizer Rapids Park. One month later we started dating. We continued to do the things we loved, working and serving Jehovah together. Exactly one year later, at the same location where everything started, on February 20th 2024 I asked the love of my life to marry me."- Cesar

"Nos conocimos oficialmente en Febrero de 2019. Comenzó como una buena amistad, comenzamos a hacer nuestros pasatiempos juntos: practicar deportes, acampar y caminar, y bailar. En Febrero de 2022 hicimos un viaje por carretera al parque nacional de Yosemite con la familia. Fue entonces cuando empecé a verla más que a una amiga. Pasó un año y me guardé los sentimientos para mí, salíamos más y cuanto más tiempo pasábamos juntos, más crecían los sentimientos." - Cesar "Diré que consideraba a César un muy buen amigo. No, he is not the groom, but there is a very good reason he is the best man. Freddy has been Cesar's day one (literally), always by his side. Freddy is known for making everyone laugh especially when he's not trying to, very helpful and thoughtful in whatever way he can. In life you wish everything can stay the same, but it isn't always possible. Even though change happens in life, nothing can separate the bond between twins.

Salmai is the light in the room. Her personality shines through her older siblings. They say she is a mix of her two older siblings, but she definitely does not live in their shadows. She is a very caring, charismatic young girl. She is always very positive and talks to anyone and everyone. I did not know how hard it would be to see my little sister grow up. I only wish her the best and can't wait to see what becomes of her. You're doing great Salmai. Keep it up. I am thankful to my parents for giving me not only a sister but a friend who I share the same blood with. Couldn't have asked for a better sister.

When you first meet Brayant, you might think he is very reserved but once you get to know him and go on a hike with him you see that Brayant truly values everything he has. From climbing beautiful mountains to enjoying music in silence, you'll never feel alone with him. He is a friend that you can have a deep conversation with whether it be about the complexity of the universe or if all water taste the same. Brayant will not hear you, he will listen to you.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Jocelyn is that one time she chased me with a worm on her wet, slippery patio where I slipped and got knocked out. It's a hilarious story ask her about it next time you see her it's pretty funny. Anyways, Jocelyn has always been the cousin and sister that keeps me on check and is also always there when I need her. I have always known her to be very organized and always has a plan. She is also a very caring and loving person. She always makes an effort to give her best. Jocelyn is the one who listens and thinks before she speaks. You need a Jocelyn in your life to keep you in check.

Eric is a guy that fits anywhere. If you're in the mood to relax, he'll bring you a blanket and pillow. If you want to go out and do something adventurous, Eric will take loud music and cheer you on. Even though he's very busy, he'll always make the time. Not only does he make you laugh and feel welcomed, but as a good friend he always offers helpful advice and a helping hand.

If I could describe Jaz in three words, I'd say she's "out of pocket". You never know what she will say but one thing for sure is that she is honest, and she says it how it is. You can rely on her always. She has a very adaptable personality when it comes to traveling and making new friends. I know I can count on her on last minute plans. She is down to earth and always ready for an adventure.

The life of the party, once a party starts you'll never see him leave the dance floor. He carries that passion and incorporates it in everything he does. His hobbies include sports, friends and nature. He truly cares for everyone and always will try to include everyone in any way he can. He truly is a brother from another mother.

Who would have thought that I would have made one of my best friends by attending my first English meeting at age 17. We made plans to go on our first hike and the rest is history. Emma became my adventure buddy. We would call each other the blonde and brunette besties lol. Emma pushed me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to try new sports. She has a very spontaneous personality. I'm not much of a planner so having someone who matched the same level of energy made some perfect adventures. I will always remember that one night we went to Portland to grab some donuts and go take a picture with the Portland sign to only come back past 1 am with my dad waiting for us in the kitchen. That was the first time Emma got the upset Mexican dad lecture. We learned our lesson.

If you google the definition of loyalty, you'll probably see Jorge's face. He is very family orientated and shares a strong bond between each family member. He is also a football expert. Jorge doesn't like to make anyone feel left out which is why he always includes everyone in his hobbies especially young ones to encourage them to always reach out and make new friends with his colorful personality.

Went from close friends to being family. Lili is not only my cousin in law but she is one of my closest friends as well. I still remember when she was 17 and I was giving her rides and trying really hard for her to like me. A lot of people would confuse us for each other or think we were sisters. I think that made me want to get to know her more. Now were family and our friendship still remains and comes naturally. On another note, Lili has such a caring personality. She takes the time to get to know you and adapts to different personalities easily. I appreciate her honesty always. She gives people the benefit of the doubt and genuinely cares and loves to help others. Lili is always a call away. If you need her she will drop everything to help. She also makes herself available and is easy to make plans with. I am happy to call her my cousin in law.

"Ontis" (aka Alejandro) is the definition of a ride or die. One example of this is once we called him at 6 am with some last-minute plans and his response was: "I'm taking Coca-Cola". Any question you have, Ontis will have an answer to. Anytime we have a problem or question about anything with technology Ontis is your go to and if he doesn't know he'll find an answer. Very grateful to have a close friend always ready for anything.

I still remember that one time a Puerto Rican couple who were visiting for the first time actually thought Gaby and I had been friends for a long time. When they asked us how long we've friends for we been told them we literally just met! They said they had been observing us having conversations and it seemed like we had a close friendship like if we had known each other for years and well now we can definitely say we have. Gaby is also one of my adventure buddies. I won't ever forget those last-minute trips to Washington and our first road trip together to Wyoming. We'll keep making more memories.
