Flight
Flying in? Both hotels are just a ~15-20 minute car ride from PHL. Cabs are a flat $37 from the airport to any location in Center City, but if you aren't feeling that adventurous Uber/Lyft are readily available as well!
The Bride and Groom love a good "coffee walk," here are our go-to's: Grooms Pick- La Colombe: 130 S 19th Street (8min walk) or 1414 S Penn Square (next to the Ritz) Brides Pick- Di Bruno Brothers, known for meats & cheeses but don't sleep on their coffee and pastries: 1730 Chestnut Street (7 min walk) -J'aime French Bakery- go for the coffee stay for the Parisian pastries: 212 S 12th St (6 min walk) -Elixir Coffee Roasters- a hip spot for a fancy pour-over: 207 S Sydenham St (6 min walk)
Looking to scratch that retail itch or look for a post-holiday deal? Walnut Street between 18th Street and Broad is a densely populated shopping district with everything from a Lululemon & J. Crew, to Tiffany & Co. and Lagos. Need a Philly Gift or Souvenir? We love "Open House" for their cheesesteak baby onesies and soft pretzel pillows. It's a must stop if you want to bring some Philly Jawns home with you. 107 S 13th St, just 4 minutes from the hotels!
Sure you could go to the "State Store" but our favorite boutique wine shop in Philadelphia, Cork, will have you swishing, smelling, and tasting like a sommelier in no time. Red, White or Bubbles, ask for help, you won't regret it. Stock your hotel room with the best around. Bride and Groom's Recommendation: Il Mostro "Thyrus" (Trebbiano d'Abruzzo) or the Sonnhof Social Club 2019 (Gruner Veltliner)
Yes it's December, but do you even know the Bride? -Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream- Don't skip the "Gooey Butter Cake": 1901 Chestnut St (7 min walk) -Scoop DeVille- Philly's best ice cream by the one and only Spencer Philips. This institution blends your favorite hard ice cream flavor with any topping you can imagine to create the custom soft serve of your dreams. Brides order- vanilla ice cream with strawberries, fruity pebbles, and marshmallow fluff: 1109 Walnut Street (8 min walk)
Eagles vs Cardinals @ 1 pm
Staying Through NYE? We don't blame you, the hotel blocks give you the best seat in the house for witnessing one of Philadelphia's best known (and strangest) New Year's Day traditions. What's more entertaining than watching hoards of middle aged men in dresses playing brass instruments? Don't ask us the history of this tradition, we aren't sure anyone knows.
A Philly Classic, Period. Looking for an easy brunch, solid lunch, or feeling like a seafood tower overlooking Rittenhouse Square is in your future? This is your spot. Strongly recommend reservations far in advance. (10 Minute Walk) Brides Pick: Steak Tartare & Warm Shrimp Salad. Grooms Pick: Steak Frites & Bowl of French Onion Soup
Best Man
Matt’s fun loving and full of life older brother. Rob’s been such a presence in Matt’s life and we couldn’t imagine saying “I do” without him standing by Matt’s side. Rob loves adventures, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his family.
Matron of Honor
Cassidy's rock and savior in this world, her younger sister Hayley. She's the best sister, mama, daughter, speech pathologist, and friend. Hayley is funny, compassionate, brave, and just the all around best sister in the world. She's been a huge part of Cass and Matt's lives and they're so grateful she'll be a part of their celebrations. Watch out for this mama on the dance floor!
Man of Honor
Cassidy couldn't get married without her sister AND brother by her side. Davis and Cassidy became close spending most of their 20's in Philly together and even lived a block away from one another for two years. Davis was a great big brother who often met Cass for early morning dog walks on the Rail Park to make sure she stayed safe. Davis is intelligent, unique, and a total history buff. He's an entrepreneur with varied interests including all things tech, hyper local news, and his wire hair fox terrier Doc. Ask Davis for Philadelphia cuisine recommendations, he won't do you wrong.
Flower Girl
Cassidy and Matt's charismatic, adventurous, and fun niece will lead the way and help Reesie down the aisle. Siena will be 4 come wedding day and can’t wait to be part of the ceremony festivities.
Flower Girl
Cassidy and Matt's adorable, sweet, smiley niece will steal the show as our youngest flower girl. Reese will be 17 months come wedding day and will be sprinting down the aisle to her Aunt Sass and Uncle Matt.
Ring Bearer
We are so lucky to call this handsome, thoughtful and intelligent guy our oldest nephew. Bruno is the best big brother and will lead the way as an almost 6 year old come December. Bruno is loving kindergarten and we're so excited to have him in our ceremony.
Ring Bearer
Cassidy and Matt's youngest nephew who is the cuddliest, gassiest, most adorable little bundle there ever was. Parker is Cassidy’s Godson and will be 8 months old come December. He gets cuter by the day!
We recommend you make dinner reservations at least 3 weeks in advance.
