Casandra and Christopher go by the nicknames “Sandy & Chris” and so we shall use their nicknames as we share the journey of their love.

Our Story

Sandy & Chris met in 1992, during their 8th-grade year at Roosevelt Elementary School in Bridgeport, CT. They went their separate ways attending different high schools, but since they lived near one another, they became very close friends. They hung out daily, went to church together regularly, and served as youth volunteers helping to set up the media ministry at the church they attended together. (Shout out to Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship!) After a few years, life took them in different directions and they lost touch… But fast forward to the year 2023, approximately 28 years later, good old Facebook introduced them as “someone you may know” and the two were reconnected. They discovered Chris now lived in Deltona, FL in the very town that Sandy’s mom, sister, and aunt also resided in for the past 25+ years. Their friendship blossomed again and since reconnecting they found they could never go a day without speaking. They could still talk for hours, and their bond as teens was naturally still there. Sandy tried to keep Chris in the friend zone, but he patiently and respectfully pursued her, and after what Sandy thought was just a “friendship date” as his plus-one to his best friend's wedding in September 2023, the night ended with a kiss. A few days later they realized they’d both fallen in love with their best friend. Sandy was swept away by his gentle, kind, and loving spirit. Chris proposed to Sandy on March 22, 2024, during a weekend visit to Connecticut and Sandy said yes! Now, they are planning their wedding... And you’re invited!
