Our Love Story

It all began at a lounge that Carrie and Mike both frequented though neither knew they were dancing their way toward forever. Carrie, as usual, had taken over the dance floor with her energy, while Mike watched with a smile, letting her enjoy the moment without interrupting. But fate clearly had other plans. Instead of letting Carrie slip away the two finally exchanged numbers, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They often joke that once they finally exchanged numbers, they became glued together and, in many ways, that’s exactly what happened. What followed felt effortless. The connection was immediate, the comfort undeniable. Conversations flowed easily, laughter came naturally, and it didn’t take long for both of them to realize that they hadn’t just found someone they enjoyed they had found someone who felt like home. Beyond the spark and the chemistry, Carrie and Mike discovered something deeper binding them together: a shared professional world and a shared sense of purpose. Both came from similar career backgrounds in the criminal justice field, giving them a unique understanding of each other’s experiences, challenges, and perspectives. They could talk about their work in ways only someone who truly understood could appreciate. It gave their conversations depth, their bond a stronger foundation, and their respect for one another an unshakeable anchor. From their union came two extraordinary gifts: their children, Messiah Chiemeka Gregg and Niemah Adaeze Gregg. With their arrival, Carrie and Mike’s world expanded in ways they never could have imagined. Their home filled with laughter, tiny footsteps, early morning cuddles, and the kind of joy only children can bring. Messiah and Niemah didn’t just make the family complete they became living reminders of the love, intention, and devotion that brought Carrie and Mike together in the first place. Through late night feedings, celebrations, milestones, challenges, and sweet everyday moments, Carrie and Mike built a life rooted in partnership. They learned to support each other, lean on each other, and grow with each other. Every step of the way, they continued to choose one another with love, with respect, and with the same spark that first pulled them together across a crowded lounge. Now, after years of building a life full of meaning, growth, laughter, and love, Carrie and Mike are ready to celebrate the next chapter of their journey. Surrounded by family, friends, and the two beautiful children who have already shaped their legacy, they are excited to honor the love story that began with music, movement, and the courage to finally say hello. This wedding isn’t just a ceremony it’s a celebration of everything they’ve overcome, everything they’ve built, and everything they look forward to creating together. It’s a tribute to fate’s perfect timing, to the dance floor that kept bringing them back, and to the life that began the moment two hearts recognized each other.

FAQs

Question

Why did you choose to get married in Las Vegas?

Answer

After navigating the challenges of Covid and experiencing the heartbreaking back to back loss of the bride’s father and grandmother, as well as the loss of the groom’s grandmother, we were deeply reminded of how precious life and love truly are. As the world began to reopen, it felt like the right time to choose joy and celebrate our union with intention. Las Vegas offered the perfect setting for a meaningful celebration. The groom wanted to make sure the bride still had the wedding she had always dreamed of.

Question

Will there be a traditional Nigerian Wedding ?

Answer

Honoring the bride’s Nigerian heritage is a meaningful part of our love story, and something that lives deeply in our hearts. Although a full Traditional Nigerian Wedding may take place at a later time, we want to share a piece of what has already shaped this journey. Before the bride’s father passed, he held a small traditional ceremony with the Bride and Groom just the three of them. It was intimate, sacred, and full of the love, joy, and blessings that only a father can give. That moment became a gift we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Because some of our cultural traditions have already been honored with him in that private, irreplaceable way, the celebration you are invited to is centered on our wedding ceremony where we continue the story he helped begin. We carry his spirit with us, and we are truly grateful to have you share in this moment of love, family, and remembrance.
