Our Story

It all began in the halls of a Portuguese language course. Jean-Michael was enrolled in Portuguese II, and Carolina was enrolled in Portuguese I. Their paths crossed one day between classes, and in that moment, Jean-Michael knew he had seen someone he couldn’t let slip away. He struck up a conversation with Carolina, and they formed a friendship. They had a special bond. After a year of being best friends, they finally confessed their feelings for each other and began dating. Since then, they've been inseparable. Together, they’ve created a life filled with joy in the simplest things: weekly açai bowl dates, dancing the night away on Saturday nights, watching sunsets while sharing dreams and thoughts about life, cozy evenings with Chinese takeout and their favorite movies/TV shows, and countless shared moments that have become their own kind of magic. They’ve built a life full of little traditions, shared laughter, and unconditional support. Now, they’re beyond excited to start this next chapter together, and cannot wait to celebrate this special moment with all of you.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to ensure you are seated and ready for the celebration. We kindly ask that all guests arrive on time for the ceremony. Out of respect for the special moment and our photographers, late arrivals will be asked to join us after the ceremony during cocktail hour. Thank you for understanding! 💛

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress Code – Formal Join us in celebrating this special day in timeless elegance. Ladies: Long evening gown Gentlemen: Dark suit with tie (no bow ties) and dress shoes.

What if I forgot to RSVP or want to change my response?

Answer

Please reach out to us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate changes if we are still within the planning window, but after the RSVP deadline, we may not be able to make adjustments.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We love celebrating with all of our friends and family, but due to space constraints, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If your invite does not include a plus one, we appreciate your understanding in respecting our guest list.

Will there be a reception after the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! The reception will follow immediately after the ceremony. We have a wonderful evening planned, including dinner, dancing, and celebration!

One of the people listed on our invitation can’t attend. Can we send someone else in their place?

Answer

Thanks for checking! Because we’re working with a very specific guest list and seating plan, invitations are non‑transferable. If someone in your party can’t make it, we’ll simply celebrate with a slightly smaller group (and maybe scoop an extra slice of cake!). We truly appreciate your understanding while we keep things cozy and organized.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors, followed by an indoor reception at the same venue.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony to ensure our photographer captures the special moments. Please feel free to take photos at the reception!
